Microwave Eggs

I'm wanting to make eggs/turkey bacon sandwich at work...anyone know the best way to microwave eggs? I know the boring scrambled eggs, but I was wondering if you could make them any other way in the microwave?

TIA :buddies:

I make a "soft boiled" egg in the zapper. Coat a glass ramekin with olive oil or butter, put the egg in, zap for about 20 seconds on high. Put it on a buttered toasted English muffin. Yolk is still runny, whites are cooked.

Zap it a few seconds longer, it would be good for a sammich.

Like Vrai said, if you don't want a runny yolk, poke it and maybe put a piece of plastic over it to prevent splash.

I don't bother to cover it anymore. Never had one blow up either. It does spit and sput alot tho!

Ehh... I'll cover it, I'm not too concerned with explosion, I'm one of only 4 or 5 people at my office at 7 a.m.

I did and chiseling that crap off the nuker walls was no fun. No fun at all.

Chiseling is no fun, and not to mention the smell. An all purpose plastic microwave cover for a $1 at the $ store is one of the best weapons I have in my kitchen. I do want to add a tip for times that a microwave becomes encrusted. Put a wet sponge/cloth in the microwave for a minute, and then wipe it down. It is so much easier to get the crud off, once it has been steamed.

Heat up a microwave safe plate till it's really hot, and pull it out of the microwave and throw and egg on it... bam, fried egg.

so do I, and I love it. Also have a little nuker omelet pan.

The only thing I don’t like about the microwave egg poacher is that it's not sturdy enough to crack the eggs on. I usually have to smack them with a butter knife handle to get at the baby bird. :yay:
