MinPin/Schnauzer mix pup needs home

feral cat? :really: Who talked you into that?

Smokey found ME... and he talks to me and he flicks his tale in conversation at me and he winks at me with his golden eyes.... just the other day I think I saw him put up a mailbox and hang a "home sweet home" shingle...:bawl:

If he was feral, he wouldn't be rubbing up against your leg while you're grilling.

My littlest mini-schnauzer follows it around the yard staring at it everywhere he goes and he couldn't care less she is there. She no longer bothers to bark at him because she can't get a rise out of him. It's hilarious... I mean...:burning:

the pup looks so scared. Tail between the legs gave it away. I hope they can find someone to take him/her in so they don't have to result in turning the dog into the shelter.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Poor thing looks so scared!

Thanks everyone. Pup found a good home last night at a nearby farm so her rescuier can visit her regularly.

happy to be living
By default you agree with what the Amish are doing by supporting their business and giving them a reason to continue breed for money. Where there is a demand, there shall be a supplier.

Several people have come into my store that "rescued" those poor dogs the Amish were selling. They felt sorry for them (the dogs).
Sad.

I have one that I got from the Amish and he was surely taken care of. They had large closed in areas to sleep in and access to areas outside to go out to do their business. He was very clean when I got him. He really didn't need a bath but I gave him one anyway. Maybe it depends on who you get them from. Apparently not all are the same. I have heard some stories about some.

Well, my Smokey had an emergency run to the vet today... earlier in the week he had been in a fight and I noticed a spot of fur missing from the top of his head... I kept an eye on it and it stayed clear and he seemed fine all week. Well yesterday evening when I got home from work he walked me to my front door as he always does and when I looked down I :yikes: because the entire right side of his face was swollen... abcess presented itself pretty darn quickly as he appeared to be fine that morning. Prior to today I've only ever had to take him to Well Pet Clinic just for well baby shots. Today we ran him to Three Notch Vets and they squeezed him in. The treated him and he is going to be just fine... three main things said by the vet today...

1) Thank goodness he was up to date on his rabies shots and most definately thank goodness I had all the paperwork. Once they shaved his face it was obvious it was a full mouth bite on the side of his face. The boosted his rabies today and said all would be fine.

2) They said they wished every cat was as awesome as him! When she tried to listen to his heart all she could hear was the purrr purrr purrr of a content and well behaved kitty. They said he was a wonderful cat...

3) The vet said he is pure bred... short-haired Russian Blue... I just looked it up and it describes him perfectly. I am typically a dog person but am very, very fond of this cat... reading the description now I know why...

Russian Blue Cats
Russian Blue cats have gray-silver hair with blue tints and are originally from Russia. These cats are intelligent and love to observe and watch what is going on around them. They can learn how to do some tricks and love to be around their owners, but they tend to run away from strangers that come into their homes. Russian Blue cats have very fine, short hair that is silky, soft and smooth to the touch, and they have long bodies and short limbs. They tend to be smaller cats. This breed of cats like to play with other dogs, cats and animals in their home along with their cat toys. Most of them will approach their owners and rub their heads against them in a loving way when they sense their owners are sad or feeling down because they are sensitive to human emotions. Russian Blues are fantastic cats to own if you have mild allergies because they tend to have less dander.
