Mishandling classified documents

I might add that, rather than - "cooperate" - he's more doubling down on stupid by claiming he doesn't regret what happened.
Duh. Classified documents were left where squirrels and the janitor could see them. You SHOULD have some regret.

Now its just arrogance on his part. He knows the media will defend him and someone is going to lose their job at CBS for reporting it.

White House offers response to key Republican on classified documents

“The Biden Administration takes seriously the security and protection of government records, particularly classified information,” Delery wrote. “We look forward to engaging in good faith with you and your staff regarding your requests. To that end, White House staff will reach out to Committee staff to arrange a time to discuss this matter.”

Delery’s response comes after Comer sent letters to the White House on Jan. 10 and Jan. 13. The first letter sought information about materials found at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., during a November 2022 search.

The Jan. 13 letter from Comer asked for “all classified documents retrieved by Biden aides or lawyers at any location,” communications between White House and DOJ officials about classified documents retrieved from Biden’s old office or home, and a list of aides or lawyers who had searched for documents and where they looked.

Report: Joe Biden’s Attorneys Misled DOJ About Classified Docs Stored at Residence

On January 9, the scandal was leaked to CBS News. White House officials are reportedly suspicious about how Biden’s classified document scandal was leaked to the press after only a select group of White House and DOJ officials knew about the violation.

The leak of the scandal apparently caused Biden’s attorneys to resume searching his home for more classified documents. The searches took place and unearthed more classified materials on January 11 and 12. At that point, a total of 25 classified documents had been found to be mishandled by the president.

On January 14, the White House claimed that all searches for all classified documents were completed but would not confirm if additional classified documents remained under Biden’s personal possession in violation of the law.

The additional troves unearthed by Biden’s personal attorneys were followed by the DOJ’s request to conduct its own search of his home. The president’s attorney’s agreed. The DOJ’s search was conducted Friday and found six more items consisting of classified marking, according to the president’s personal attorney, Bob Bauer. The trove unearthed Friday is in addition to the about 25 classified documents Biden’s personal attorneys found in past weeks both at the Penn Biden Center and his residence.

"I understand the question," Sams claimed, but he continued to ignore it before trotting out another ludicrous explanation: "We're deferring to the Justice Department to answer some of these questions," Sams said, in order to "understand how this happened."

Really? Biden needs the DOJ to explain to him how he improperly kept classified documents from his decades-long career in the U.S. Senate and eight years as Vice President and then scattered them around the Mid-Atlantic? If you believe that, there's a bridge a Brooklyn you should have a look at...

More seriously, if Joe Biden needs the DOJ to explain to him how he took documents and left them at his office, home home, and his garage, he has no business having the nuclear codes.

White House Proudly Hangs '1 Day Without Classified Documents Discovered At President's House' Sign

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In recognition of Biden's tremendous accomplishment of going one full day without more classified documents found at one of his residences, the White House has proudly hung a banner saying: "1 Day Without Classified Documents Being Discovered At President's House."

...

Uh-oh.

UPDATE: The White House has been forced to take the banner down and cancel all festivities as more classified documents have been found at the President's home.

Was Trump afforded the luxury of being asked if his residence could be searched? I think not!

He needs the DOJ to run cover for him so he doesn't haft to answer any questions. It would be funny to see him blow up after being asked them.

Both my wife and I had TS/SBI/SCI clearances when we were at SAC HQ in the late 80's.
We'd be in military prison if we mishandled classified materials.
Some of the stuff that my unit processed had to be finely shredded and then burned for disposal.

National Archives Skips Deadline to Disclose Biden Classified Scandal Docs

“The National Archives has not produced the requested documents to the Committee at this time,” the committee spokesperson told reporters Tuesday. “Chairman Comer’s request still stands and anticipates moving forward with a transcribed interview with NARA’s general counsel soon.”

At least three establishment reports have recounted that Biden’s personal attorneys agreed to hide the scandal from the American people and likely did not plan to disclose the scandal until it was leaked on January 9, months after the initial trove was found by Biden’s personal attorney on November 2.

It’s unclear why Biden’s attorneys were initially looking for his illegally stashed documents at the Biden Penn Center. Neither the White House nor the Department of Justice (DOJ) have provided a reason or cause for the search.
