I've been following your story since Miss Teia. Sorry to hear of her passing, she was well loved.
I got involved with feral cats in 2015 when a feral showed up pregnant. We named her Frankie and found homes for her 6 kittens, 2 of which my sister and I took. That made us each have 3 cats! Mine unfortunately passed away of a rare disease at only 8 months old, which devastated us. Fast forward to spring of 2016 and another feral, Gypsy has 5 kittens. We tried to trap her so many times, but this was going to be her last batch of kittens. Nowhere near healed from out kittens passing, we did decide to take one of Gyspy's kittens and named her Saylor. We TNR all of our ferals at work and we made shelters for them.
Fast forward to Fall 2018, Gypsy had a bad abscess that required a $2,000 emergency vet bill. There was no way we could put her back on the streets so we made the decision to keep her at home ( a decision that had been coming for a while, we were just worried about how our other cats would handle it). We also scooped up Frankie, who now lives with my sister and her daughter Ellie.
Gypsy lives in 2 large rooms in my basement because she is aggressive, especially to her daughter. She loves people so much and head butts and loves on us! We are working with her and the other cats, hence the leash! Pictured below is Gypsy, Piper (larger Tuxedo), Finley (gray), and Saylor (her daughter, small Tuxedo).
Since 2015 we have rescued/TNR more than 30 cats. It is heartbreaking and rewarding at the same time! You have done Blue good and I foresee a lifetime of love and happiness!
