Offer them money for the dog. They just might take you up on it.

BTW, after he said I could have the dog, I offered him $. He said no. I think he knew that Cody wanted to be with us as much as we wanted him.

So Matt, thank you for making us soooooo happy today! You did the right thing. Cody will be showered with love and attention furever!

**UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE**

The little dog "Cody" escaped again today and came running back to me while I was out playing with the half pint enjoying the sunshine around lunch time.

As much as I just wanted to keep him, I knew the right thing was to take him back home again :bawl:

I rang their door bell and when he answered the door I told him Cody had come back to visit me again. He came out and sat down to chat with us. Half pint had him on the leash running around playing with Cody and both of them giggling up a storm. I told him the deal stood, if they ever wanted to give him up I wanted to bring him home. The guy looked at me and said very casually "OK". I about fell over. I asked him, are you sure? Yep! He said him and his girlfriend had already discussed it last night and were going to bring him to me last night. Apparently Cody decided he wanted to live here too :yahoo: So I am (or half pint) is now the new owner of 5 month old Cody the pug escape artist that kept coming to visit us :thewave:

I'll post some pics later.

Awesome! :yahoo:

I'm sure in their way they did care for Cody. They had his broken legs repaired, he's up to date on his shots, and he's be recently neutered. I just think Cody wasn't the dog for them for many reasons. He took the long way to come "home".

I did find out some more info on his injuries. Apparently his neice who was seven, threw Cody down a flight of stair breaking his two legs. I'm glad he's finally here and I can't wait to fatten this skinny little love bug up. He's still very skinny and it didn't take him long to loose the little weight I put on him last time he visited.

That is wonderful news!!!!!! :yahoo::yahoo: I am so glad that it all worked out! Sounds like Cody knew EXACTLY where he wanted to be.

I have met Cody and he is really as sweet as SoMdGirl42 says he is. He will give kisses to anyone who's face gets close enough to his mouth. He really loves the little one and whines if she goes anywhere out of his site. Congratulations on the new addition!!!

Cody did well last night. He went potty twice before going to bed for the night. He's having some loose stool, probably from the change in food, (previous owners were giving him Dog Chow, but I think he needs puppy food since he's only 5 months old) but other than that he's doing well. Very happy and playful this morning.

What suggestions do ya'll have for the best puppy food? I had my other boys on Iams puppy food when they were little. I bought Cody Purnia One for puppies when he visited last time, but he doesn't seem overly fond of the flavor. He's currently snacking on the big dog's beneful, I think he likes the different flavors. I mixed some in with the puppy food and he's picking out the beneful pieces to snack on. I have Iams adult food for the other little boys, but I haven't given him any of that yet. I don't want to keep switching his food and giving him more loose stools. I generally keep food down at all times as my other boys snack throughout the day instead of eating one or two big meals, so keep in mind for a time they'll probably all be eating the same food. I'd rather the other boys gain a little weight from the puppy food then deprive the puppy of the needed stuff in the puppy food.

It's been a while since we've had a puppy in the house, so opinions on the puppy food would be appreciated.

Ty belvak. I didn't realize they made puppy food. It may be the way to go :buddies: BTW, that web site has some really good info, so again thank you. Like I said, it's been awhile since having a puppy in the house, and it's like having a baby all over again, some things you forget (or would like to forget :killingme).
