What’s it going to be: Girlfriend, boyfriend, embezzlement or amnesia?

A man runs home and yells to his wife, "Honey! Pack your things! I hit the lottery!"

"WOW!" says the wife, "Should I pack for the beach or pack for the mountains?"

The man replies, "I don't care! Just pack and get out!"

I sincerely hope he didn't do this on purpose. If you want to go to away, don't just disappear. Too much money is spent on looking for people who choose to disappear. You know someone will report you missing for crying out loud! I can think of better things we could do with the money spent looking for people who really aren't missing.

Like what? How much money does it take to send out a release to the news media and other cop shops? It's not like they had to pay for the "advertising".

I'm just glad the guy is okay and I think this should be the end of it. Not turn him into some Runaway Bride freak show.

Adults can disappear all they want, there is nothing illegal about it, and a reason why it's hard to get the police to do anything when you report someone over the age of 18 as missing.

You have the right to ride off into the sunset any time you want.

This is true. An adult goes missing, unless they suspect foul play (or go missing on Mount Hood), you're not going to get the helicopters overhead, the thousand person search team beating the bushes..

Anyone who knows Marcel Brooks knows he didn't "win" and disappear.... His family and friends have been devistated and worried sick about him since his disappearance.... You all with your sarcastic comments should get on your knees and give thanks that you have never had to go through worrying about whether a loved one was dead or alive.... Marcels family has a lot to be thankful for.... shame on any of you for making any of this a joke.

If I were the "family" and he pulled a stunt like this on me and mine, he'd better get on his knees and give thanks that he's not within strangling distance.

Any word as to why the disapearing act?

You know what I hope? I hope he was just having a midlife crisis and ran off to renew the old magic. Now that he's caught, he'll go back to the wife and family and be content that he's still got it. :yay:

Everybody's got a hungry heart....

Got a wife and kids in Baltimore, Jack
I went out for a ride and I never went back
Like a river that don't know where it's flowing
I took a wrong turn and I just kept going

CHORUS
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Lay down your money and you play your part
Everybody's got a hungry heart

I met her in a Kingstown bar
We fell in love I knew it had to end
We took what we had and we ripped it apart
Now here I am down in Kingstone again

CHORUS

Everybody needs a place to rest
Everybody wants to have a home
Don't make no difference what nobody says
Ain't nobody like to be alone

Who was making it a joke?

You saying something like this have NEVER happened in the past? Some of the most upstanding citizens in their communities have done some really bizarre stuff, and have been found out to be less than upstanding. Not saying that is the case here, but it is a possibility.

We'll probably never know the truth about why he did it, or what happened, but I doubt he took a wrong turn in Bowie and ended up in Alabama.

Run-away-Bride, ring a bell, maybe he should be charged for the search as well. Yes I know she lied to the police about where she had been but didn't they make her repay the county for the time they where searching for her before she showed up?
