How many people were at the reunion, Railroad? Sounds like fun!
I went to bed at 11 last night, so I was up at 5:00 this morning.
We had 11 altogether - fortunately for me two of the originally expected 13 bowed out. I helped make up platters of cold cuts, cheeses, veggies-and-dips, bowls of chips and breads, etc. What amazed me is that the crowd ate most of it. We had leftover ham, turkey, and roast beef, which I pushed my son into taking home with him. I'm grateful to the makers of the better-type plastic plates and flatware that BJ's sells - what a mess it would have been otherwise!
I bought Berringer's White Zinfandel blend for the ladies, and some expensive cigars for the brother-in-law. We also had Sutter Home White Zinfandel (helped go the distance when the good stuff ran out).
The temperature was actually pretty tolerable the whole time, and later in the afternoon/evening we sat on the patio around the big table and had some good conversation.
Folks left before it was too late in the evening (for which I'm also grateful), and so we were able to wind down a bit after they left and before bed.
Somebody said, "Everything looks marvelous - I don't know how you do it!" "It's easy," I replied. "You wait until somebody's coming to visit and do it all at once!"
