Yep. Hindsight is 20/20 vision. :ohwell:
You can do geothermal wells at any time and they don't have to be deep. That is a fallacy. You can run a trench type that is only a couple of feet below the frost line in the soil. The temperature there is constant at about 55 degrees; very efficient for a heat pump.

Buddy of mine has geothermal...it's constantly breaking. Of course, that probably has more to do with the crappy installation.

That would be me, knowing my luck with crappy housing system installations and my luck with machines. :bigwhoop:

Never forget..

If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder by the year 2000. ... This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age.

Its the media :jameo:

Without global warming and Anna nicole they would have nothing to do a news report on. SO create mass fear of one solid thought and then you have a nice way to fill time. Il bet in about 15 years it will be about global cooling again.

The problem is
1) A global increase in temperatures is fact.
2) this increase is due to the spike in greenhouse gases since the industrial revolution is theory.
3) Dems and environmentalists use this theory to say that it is fact.
4) Republicans hate dems so much, they will not even admit to number 1.

Leave it all to scientists and they will actually figure out what is happening without excess taxes, legislation etc.

The Global Warming Hysteria has become a billion dollar industry - those fighting for grant money - will continue to shrill louder and longer, countries looking to take the US down a notch or 3 economically, there by improving their position will continue to push - ie. China and India who amazingly are not required to reduce emissions @ all - i read that China is building Coal Fired Electrical Plants @ such a prodigious rate they will out strip the US in electrical generation if a few short years ...........

http://healthandenergy.com/china_burning_more_coal.htm (not sure about the political bent of the site )

http://www.futurepundit.com/archives/002545.html

So while the demand that we roll back to pre 1990 Kyoto levels China and India Merrily roll on building more power plants while American Industry would be made to cut back causing untold economic damage to our economy ........... :smack: buying and selling emissions credits has also been compared to wealth transfer to countries with no major industry - like a new global tax on prosperous nations :buttkick:

"The Kyoto Protocol is an agreement under which industrialized countries will reduce their collective emissions of greenhouse gases by 5.2% compared to the year 1990 (but note that, compared to the emissions levels that would be expected by 2010 without the Protocol, this limitation represents a 29% cut). The goal is to lower overall emissions of six greenhouse gases - carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulfur hexafluoride, HFCs, and PFCs - calculated as an average over the five-year period of 2008-12. National limitations range from 8% reductions for the European Union and some others to 7% for the US, 6% for Japan, 0% for Russia, and permitted increases of 8% for Australia and 10% for Iceland."

People's Republic of China

The People's Republic of China insists that the gas emissions level of any given country is a multiplication of its per capita emission and its population. China endorses this because of the advantage it would get within the new restrictions. Because China has em placed population control measures while maintaining low emissions per capita, it claims it should therefore in both the above aspects be considered a contributor to the world environment. China considers the criticism of its energy policy unjust.[30] China is currently the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases, and is expected to become the largest by 2009.[31]

In 2004 the total greenhouse gas emissions from China were about 54% of the USA emissions. China is now building on average a coal-fired power plant every week and plans to continue doing so for years. Some predictions (in 2006) are that China will emit more greenhouse gas than the USA in 2 or 3 years
