I mean, of course the earth warms, it cools too, it's cyclic and if you look at past hitory you can see the cycles and also see we SHOULD be in the middle of a warming cycle, in that instance I believe in Global Warming.

But I'd still like to know how many humans it takes to cause global warming, and how many were on the earth at the end of the ice age to make THAT ice recede..

There are many reasons, but one of the principal reasons in my view is more than half of the mainstream media have rejected the scientific consensus implicitly — and I say 'rejected,' perhaps it's the wrong word. This is interesting. I wonder how much airtime this article will receive, and if it'll change any minds.

I'd like to see some more corroborating reports myself, but I wouldn't immidiately dismiss a National Geographic report, it's a reputable source.

I was a skeptic about global warming at first, but here lately, I've been on the fence... a few more articles like this, and I'll be off the fence, back to where I was originally.

Earth is currently experiencing rapid warming, which the vast majority of climate scientists says is due to humans pumping huge amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Mars, too, appears to be enjoying more mild and balmy temperatures.

I figured out some good spin for the "ACK! We're all gonna die " folks!


Mars's atmosphere is mostly carbon monoxide (CO2)... and it is THAT very poison which is the greenhouse gas that is causing Earth's greenhouse effect.

The difference is that Mars's CO2 is natural, it's temperature is SUPPOSED to go up.

On Earth, CO2 is generated by automobiles, drilling for oil, deforestation, Republicans, heated homes, and over 6 billion people's incessant breathing. i.e. NOT natural, and therefore earth is NOT SUPPOSED to heat up same the way Mars is, etc. etc. and so on and so forth, conclusion: humanity is evil.

...the sun is something like 27 million degrees f at it's core. 10,000 or so at the surface and back into the millions of degrees f or so in it's atmosphere.

Sun spots vary 1,000's of degrees and most are far larger than the earth.

It's X degrees in Nebraska, the middle of the US, and it's warmer as you go south a few hundred miles. 10 degrees F is a big deal on our planet. We only range between maybe -100f and + 130 f or so, 200 degrees.

Now, if you figure the rather dramatic differences on our planet, throw in the variables of the sun, guess that, maybe, the earth might wiggle a bit from year to year in it's rotation around the sun and that, at 93 million miles, maybe we get a bit closer or father from time to time and, perhaps, that could cause a degree or two here and there, then, maybe, the concept of man hurting the planet because we're burning up oil having some horrible consequence could be just a bit absurd. In the bigger picture.

In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row.
