Now that Motivation is closed where is a good place close to get work done on a Metric bike?

Ok, i am a little confused here, what do you mean by a metric bike. I have owned Honda's, BSA, and Triumphs and have even helped friends work on Harleys. Your terminology is throwing me here.

Now, all I have hd them do is put a couple of tires on rims I brought in, as I do every thing I can myself, but a knowledgeable can tell a lot about a place just by the chatter between the mechanics in an open shop like that. From what I saw and heard, I would trust them with my bike.

The crew from Motovation are now up at Clinton Cycles. I was told that they will pick up and ferry your bike to Clinton and return it. Give Dan a call at Clinton. He's now the repair shop manager.

Hijinx, all the bikes i have owned and listed were metric, that is why i said i was confused, figured any professional motorcycle mechanic had access to them. I am not a professional mechanic and i have standard and metric tools. Just curious what kind of bike do you have??

It's just a generic term for any non-Harley cruiser, dates back to when if it wasn't a Harley, it was Japanese. It might fall out of favor now that the variety of non-Harley but still US made cruisers is increasing with Indian coming online.

I have a Yamaha Venture. I cannot say enough about the reliability or dependability of the bike, but it needs a front tire. Clinton Cycles is a bit farther than I want to go to get one, and I don't like the dealer in White Plains.

Having bragged on the reliability and dependability of the bike it has shortcomings. It is top heavy at slow speeds and too high for an old man like me.
I would like a bike with a lower center of gravity, and why Yamaha cannot stop the clutch basket from whistling --I don't know, They all do it. It doesn't hurt anything , but it is annoying. I previously had a lot of motorcycles for Honda's to Triumph,s , 1 BMW, and 3 Harley Davidson's. The Yamaha leaves a lot to be desired in the handling area when it is compared to the Harley. Right now I am very interested in the Indian. I don't like the entertainment console on the new Harley. I like to pay attention to the road and not have a TV screen-like system taking up my attention.

I will put in a good word for Serge. Have bought a road bicycle as well as had work done on my motorcycle. He knows his way around anything with two wheels.

I've been to Serge's and talked to him about doing work, but did not get a warm enough fuzzy that I would consider that my go to place. I'd go there if I had to, but not my first choice.
I've done business with SM City Motorsports and they are good guys. They are my go to place and I see no reason why I would not use them. Matter of fact, we are having a Dyno-tune weekend at SM City Motorsports May 2-4. I say "we" not because I have any interest with SM City MS, but because I'm one of the guys working with the Dyno tuner dude that is coming in to do the work at their site. He mostly works on Victory bikes, but can and will do performance work or a simply Dyno tune on any bike.
If interested, go here to make an appointment: http://www.lloydz.com/dyno-sched.asp?action=show
