MSF class requirements

The course on base is an MSF course. The card I got says MSF on it.
The big advantage is that it's free. I guess now contactors can't reserve a spot though. Three years ago they could and I did.

okay, here's the scoop. the free M/C safety class on base is available to active duty, GS and retirees. period.
for the last 5 years, i allowed contractors to show up on a space-available basis. i never had a problem.
when the contract came up for renewal last year, the new company didn't want to train contractors. i was very vocal in opposition of this and because of that, and the fact that i didn't get along with the pax safety manager, i wasn't hired by the new company, after running the m/c safety program in the DC area (and pax) for 5 years. without problems i might add.
as far as requiring riders to take the class every 3 years.......thats true.
take the experienced rider course. its 1 day, its fun and ITS A DAY OFF WORK!
ride safe................
any MSF certified course will fulfill the requirements to ride on base.

Very true. Glad you told us what was going on. Sorry you don't still have the job.

Does anyone have an official document stating that we need to take the MC Safety Course every three years, and as to the type of motorcycles this instruction pertains to?

Check back thru the threads here. The mil orders have been posted before. 3 years for non-sport bikes, 1 year for sport.

I didnt see the 1 year requirement for sport bikes, I may have missed that part? I did see the 3 years...

basshawg, you must have instructed me in the class.. I was hoping the MSF course would learn me to balance the bike at a stop light with out ever putting my feet down. J/K I guess it was good, but not good enough to take it every 3 years. It seams that the MSF has made its self needed.

Could be. I still think it's discouragement. Why not make cage drivers take a motorcycle awareness course if they really want to protect bikers?
