Motorcycle parking on base?

Hmm, must be a BMW thing. We have a guy at work that did that until he was told not to. I guess he didn't want to park by the lowlier bikes 20 feet away.:lmao:

The only time I go on to Pax is to get my haircut or go to the PX.. I think it's silly for me to take up an entire car spot.. and since I'm not one of the 50 people with a reserved space, I just park up on the walk by the drycleaner.. Hey, if they can park lawn tractors out there, I can park there.

At Webster we have a BIG spot right by the front door, and I'm usually the only one parked there.

That’s where I park, too, on the cement apron. My last bike tipped over from soft asphalt in the summer heat, not going to happen again. If anyone complains- none have thus far- I'll ask if they want to pay my deductible.

That's why I carry a small metal plate with me. Put it under the kickstand so it won't melt into the hot asphalt.

Just curious guys... Does the MSF course meet base requirements?

I tired to sign up for the base course and they wouldn't let me because I'm a spouse of a civil servant (and one of those lowly contractors) and they claimed the course was only for Active duty and Govt. civilians.

So does the MSF course meet the requirements for riding on base (assuming I wear all the other stuff they require, and register my bike at the pass office)?

Hmm, that's odd. The last I heard, you aren't allowed to ride on base unless you take the base safety course...

If the course is only offered to active duty and govies... SOunds like somebody got tangled up in their own red tape. Try talking to the pass office and working your way from there.

The MSF course is accepted by the base for registering your bike and getting a base sticker unless they've recently changed the rules.

Yes it does.

I think you misunderstood. The only people who are allowed to get on the list and reserve a spot in the class are active duty and GS. You can show up the morning of the class and be a standby. If there is an open spot because they didn't fill up with active duty or GS or if there are no-shows you can get in and take it.

Ah that makes more sense. Still sucks that they changed the rules though :ohwell:

The course on base is an MSF course. The card I got says MSF on it.
The big advantage is that it's free. I guess now contactors can't reserve a spot though. Three years ago they could and I did.

Even as a retiree I could not reserve a spot. They like to keep the advanced class down to 12.

The new instruction had not come out yet as far as I know. Maybe they will have a change of heart.

Regardless until retards on sports bikes stop killing themselves going 150 on one wheel down highways they are going to continue to punish everyone. The instructor said they have had 20 something M/C fatalities Navywide so far this year and most of them were under 30 and on sport bikes.

Even if Sportbikes were banned outright, those idiots would find other ways to kill themselves.

Stoopid is stoopid, after all.

I wonder howmany automotive accidents resulted in death.. I bet a couple more than 20.

I was just told that contractors are no longer allowed as stand by's ? any truth to that?
