Very nice! :yay: I have quite the soft spot for flautists, being one myself.

In the same vein of 'making your hair stand up' was this piece I saw the GRP All-Stars perform in the 90's. It doesn't get any better with Dave Valentin on flute, Lee Ritenour on guitar, Gary Novak on drums, Abraham Laboriel on bass, Ernie Watts on tenor sax, and on keyboards BOTH Dave Benoit and Don Grusin. :notworthy

That was amazing!

Another version I really like. Wait til you read the story behind the man.

Was anybody ever able to get behind the man to get the story?

j/k...my wife told me about this guy a while back, what a voice he had. We both listened to a few of his songs out there n youtube, good stuff. :yay:

Now that is some wicked good stuff right there, jazz. I can watch that over and over. And you can tell they're having a good time playin', too.

wild fire

I always think of an beautiful Indian girl riding a paint horse bareback when I hear this song.

She comes down from Yellow Mountain
On a dark, flat land she rides
On a pony she named Wildfire
With a whirlwind by her side
On a cold Nebraska night

Oh, they say she died one winter
When there came a killing frost
And the pony she named Wildfire
Busted down its stall
In a blizzard he was lost

She ran calling Wildfire [x3]
By the dark of the moon I planted
But there came an early snow
There's been a hoot-owl howling by my window now
For six nights in a row
She's coming for me, I know
And on Wildfire we're both gonna go

We'll be riding Wildfire [x3]

On Wildfire we're gonna ride
Gonna leave sodbustin' behind
Get these hard times right on out of our minds
Riding Wildfire

You have to know the story behind the song...and that will make your eyes water.

nostalgia time

If this song don't jerk your heart through a knothole, nothin' probably will. Especially if you grew up "back then."
