My creepy Uncle Joe thread

I don't think of sniffing hair as "manhandling". What we do know is that if the press is out to get you, they can manufacture outrage like snapping their fingers. And now they're out to get Joe Biden for whatever reason.

I'm more interested in that: why Joe is in the hot seat. Is it because he called Mike Pence a good guy?
They do seem out for Joe. My guess is that it is because he is popular with both D's and R's - people see him as a "generally good guy". But, he's older, he's white, he's male, and an election cycle with him will naturally include him having to defend Obama's failures (which would put those into the minds of the populace in ways they have never been before). For all of those reasons, he can't be the candidate and must be stopped before he gains any traction. That he called Pence "a good guy" is just proof of his "old white guy" status.

Nope, you're incorrect. We can play this all day.

Yep, you're right we could play this all day; however, since there is no text that shows where I dissuaded or tried to dissuade anyone from reading the article you posted, you stand incorrect.

You stated there was nothing new, and by that you meant no need to read it. However, it was written 30 years ago and not everyone here was alive 30 years ago so how would you know if there was nothing new to all members of the forum? You should have said nothing new to you. You stand corrected

Yeah, it doesn't rise to the level of manhandling. He's a bit too familiar-friendly for my liking and it seems creepy to me. BUT! This is how he's always been and it's not a secret. All of a sudden the knives are out for Joe, so it has to be an organized effort to get rid of him.

Oh my dear bleeding and suffering Jesus on Good Friday, I didn't need to see that.
Sorry but, yes you did! This is what the creep is really doing. The media are trying to frame it as an issue with him groping grown women, but the big dirty secret is he's a pedophile through and through.

I dunno, I'm not buying the pedophile angle. I've kissed my nephews and sons on their faces and mouths before (without the gentle hands on each cheek... blech!), and there was nothing remotely predatory or sexual about it - although a picture of a lean-in without context would make anyone feel oogy. Much like that picture up there gives me the willies.

I don't get the impression that Biden is a sexual predator in any way. I've known touchy-feely tactile people, and as an introvert who generally avoids physical contact, I don't like it. Not even a little bit. I've gone so far as to tell people to back off with their hands. Naturally, I wouldn't tell this to someone when I was a child - but I never felt "threatened" by it - maybe it's different for women.

That said, I totally get why people (like Flores) are freaked out especially when you're trying to get psyched up for a presentation or speech (or whatever it was) and suddenly you have unwanted hands on you.

Creepy handsy touchy people should have a sense of goddamn decorum. Even if it's not predatory or sexual or deviant at all, someone who's 76 years old should have discovered somewhere along the line that most people don't like that crap!

A lot of thing that were tolerated years ago are not tolerable today.

Someone needs to tell Joe that.

maybe it's different for women.

Girls usually get a sense fairly early on in life as to who is just being affectionate and who is a creepy groper (unless they have a seriously weird fam who tries to pretend the funny uncle is "just playing"). It's hard to tell from a photo what Joe's intentions were. He could just be a huggy guy, or he could be an ickbag.

What's most interesting about this whole thing is the hypocrisy and double standard from the Democrats. "We believe survivors!" "Women must be believed!" "Oh...wait..." And then the inevitable, "This is Trump's fault!" It's fascinating that the bots still fall for this obvious bullshit.
