My Dog Ate What???

Anyone see this show? It's on Nat Geo Wild. I was flipping channels yesterday and came across the show. I could not believe some of the things people's dogs have eaten... glue, hundreds of rocks, hanger, lip balm, etc. Makes my dog eating two of the kid's socks seem small in comparison.

haha my pup ( passed away last november :( ) was the queen of eating weird things. She once ate christmas light bulbs..and then gratefully swallowed the cotton balls we were instructed to give her to snag the glass..as if we were giving her a treat. She also ate an entire pair of pantyhose-type trouser socks..( found them relatively unharmed in the yard..lol) and her best is when i came upstairs from school to see her lying on the floor very comfy..just finishing up the last few licks of an ENTIRE 16oz jar of vasoline :killingme:killingme

mine at a whole glad ware container.... yep... the whole plastic container... and passed it.... :jet: it was not pretty picking plastic chunks from him :faint: ... and I would not recommend having your dog do that without vet supervision... (as we had day and night) ….. And he has also ate two of those blue blow up e-collars, aluminum foil, part of my camera case, the panel of side of my car door …. Lots of stuff he has counter surfed for …. Oh I know there is more

I was making cards once and left the supplies on the coffee table. The dog promptly ate glue, glitter, stickers and more. I've always exercised extreme caution after that.

They had a boxer on yesterday that swallowed TWO hot dog squeaky toys WHOLE!! They had been in his tummy so long, both were hard when the vet removed them. I immediately thought of certain people on this forum when they started in on the boxer story.

OMG hahahahaha!!!! Yall are HILARIOUS!!! I cant stop laughing! :killingme

My new dog (I say new, but Ive had him for 4 years) dosnt eat anything for fear of being beat. He ate one of my favorite shoes when he was a puppy and I beat him WITH the shoe and he made the connection - Unless its given to me, if I eat part of it... It will come back to haunt me! :lmao:

Our older dog, however, ate a cactus once. Shes really never been much of a random-stuff-eater, but she tore into that cactus one day... Strange

My old lab, dead now for about 10 years, ate everything. Crayons, toys, shoes, socks, car parts, RAT POISION (that was fun!), screws, nuts, bolts, you name it. If it was lying around and she could get it in her mouth and down her throat before we could get to her, she'd eat it.

My dog will eat anything he can get his paws on too. He regularly eats paper towels, paper plates, plastic bottlecaps, various types of food wrappers, crayons, ink pens (THAT was nice on the carpet), and for his outside meals there are bugs, sticks, rocks, and anything else that looks interesting.

He once ate a pair of shoes (as in had eaten chunks out of them). He used to eat underware like crazy (and socks)...until I spanked the hell out of him while I was shoving what was left of half a dozen pair of panties in his face. Routinely find multi-colored poop in the yard when I'm cleaninig up out there. After the 6 pair of underware in one "meal" incident it looked confetti in the yard - red, fuscia, blue, white, teal, and pink! He also used to chew on the corners of the wall from living room to hallway...coated it with some Franks Red Hot and fixed that issue from happening again. But at least he doesn't scratch or chew on the furniture!!!

OMG!

My Rottie gal Bear (she's gone now - lived to be 12 1/2 - long time for a 125 lb dog) shredded and ate a sheet - I swear she had the largest intestines of any dog I've ever had - somehow she managed to pass the sheet but we had to follow her around the yard to tug on the sections to get them out of her, or she would have come back in the house dragging sections of sheet that were hanging out of her butt - Gross!

She ate ANYTHING we gave her as bedding material, including a sleeping bag. I was always amazed she never died from her eating escapades. Eventually we gave up and she had to sleep on the floor with no bedding.

The worst my dogs ever ate was sheetrock. I had to lock them in the basement because they were terrible when we left the house, and they ate the sheetrock trying to get out. So being the brilliant person I am, I painted the wall with a mixture of hot sauce, Tabasco, anything hot I could get my hands on.

They ate that too, like it was a treat. :twitch: You know that HAD to hurt coming out.

oh god.... note to self next time... never "pull" something that may still be in there a little ways... can do more harm than good... let them work it out. or the vet has to sedate and remove with lube as its relaxed.

I must be a lucky dog owner...

Petunia never eats anything, I mean she wont even eat stuff that falls on the floor. We have to call her over and tell her to eat, and then sometimes she still turns her nose up to it.
