Really though. With the exceptions I mentioned, humans come first. You save people from floods before animals.
Gawd forbid it's you and a puppy floating down a rapid and the rescuers throw a net over the puppy leaving you to go over the falls.
This is my opinion on the Katrina situation as well. Humans who make bad choices for themselves should deal with the consequences of those choices. Animals who rely on humans to do the humane thing deserve human intervention.
Just a word of advise to prevent any future attacks, I live in Drum Point and it was not a Pit Bull that attacked my dog while walking, just a poofy white dog but now I Always carry a stun gun on my walks. You don't have to actually touch anyone with it, just the sound of it scares unwanted dogs (and people) away!
