Interesting, I have always "play fought" with our cats and have been scratched and bitten hard enough to draw blood countless times. And no, the cats aren't trying to draw blood it's usually from me trying to jerk away a second too late and scratching myself on their teeth and claws. But our cats don't go outside so maybe that's the difference.Yes. It's important to have the bite seen by a doctor. I've always had cats and an occasional bite, but I immediately cleaned it and used either peroxide or rubbing alcohol on it. Fortunately, I didn't need to see a doctor for infection.
Mom on the hand did get bit and got an infection. Dr put her on antibiotics to clear it up.
