Sweet! When I grow up I want a 911. Just not ready to give up the Camaro yet!!! I have my Turbo Carrera on my wish list though!!!

I want to find an A1 VW Rabbit diesel (early 80's) and slap historic plates on it.

And still get 45mpg on the highway! muhahaha!

Not in 944 fan at all but yours is very nice. The wheels do it for me. Fit the car well. Nice job :buddies:

Thanks!

Yea, I would love a 911 turbo as well, but for the price, a 944 turbo (951) with some minor modifications will hang with almost any non turbo 911 and older 911 turbos. Just more boost, new chips and bigger injectors (500$)= 300whp from 151 cubic inches.

The wheels I just got recently. I sold my older BBS wheels, 16x8. These are 18x8 fr/18x10 rear.

In your experience, how do the OE and aftermarket part prices compare to parts for other import cars (euro or japanese)? 944 would be a sweet car to fix up but I hear that Porsche parts are mucho dinero.

My Mustang will be twenty years old in a few weeks :faint:

It sucks that Street Rod tags are for vehicles twenty-five years old and older.

That used to be the case PRE internet when you could really only order parts from a few suppliers.

Now with the web you can get parts new, used and rebuilt from TONS of sources.

Parents had an 80 or 81 diesel rabbit automatic. Lived in Marlton in Upper Marlboro at the time. When mom would make the right off Osborn (sp?) Rd onto SB 301, she had to turn off the AC in order to accelerate, merge with traffic and go up the little hill all at the same time.

Car went bye-bye when struck at a high rate of speed while stopped on Woodyard Rd. waiting to turn into a neighborhood. Front of back seat backs were up against the back of the front seats. Girl that was driving was late for work at the Cap Center. Dad and I came out OK, she broke her nose. Unfortunately for her, she was a substitute gym teacher for me a week later and we played dodge ball. She got hit in the head repeatedly with the ball.

Thanks to the economy and high end items getting hit harder than most, a 996 or 996TT can be bought now for WELL under their original sticker.

Nice 996 are about 20-25K and nice 996TT are in the 30-40K. The TT was a 120K+ car brand new less than 10 years ago and many were pampered and only have 30, 40K miles on them now.

Haven't grown out of the smokey violent burnout yets! Maybe in 7 years for my 50th!

I wanted vanity tags for my "HOOPTY". The aggravation of inspection and other hoops and such to jump through did me in. :jameo:

She now has a historic tag. :killingme

That was almost the very first car I bought back in 85. Sadly, being a single guy under 25, with a zip code of downtown San Francisco, insurance for a two seat car was just short of todays national debt.

So I got a slightly used Dodge Shelby Charger:) Always have had a soft spot for that CRX, though.
