Need a Foster Home TODAY

Help "Invisible Dogs"
This little sweety is in the shelter and today is it for her. Here's some info:

"She is 5-6 mos. cane corso (poorly bred) sweet dog though. kinda hyper but sweet. He said something seemed wrong with her hips all of a sudden and wanted to know if maybe you saw her, or thought that she could be rescued. He gave her up because he couldn't afford to take her to the vet and didn't think it was fair to her. "

According to the vets that examined her it's not dysplasia but muscle atrophy, so she will need an active home that can help her build those muscles back up.

Due to her breed, we need a foster home that has experience with the big dogs.

If you can help this little girl out, please let me know. You can call me at 301-904-0653 or email me at katmc@secondhoperescue.org

I have to call the shelter as she will probably be one of the first pulled today.

thanks,
Kathy

What a pretty pup. I'll bet the poor thing's been in a crate 24/7.

I hope you find someone to take her.

yes she is a very pretty pup. I hope you all can get her out of the shelter so she isn't put to sleep I would hate to see that happen.

What is the breed and how large is it right now? I would consider but it's harder to do with the winter months coming on, two hounds inside already with a six-month old baby. But let me know, I'd hate to see her lose a chance at rehab. Just PM me if you want.

She looks a lot like that dog Bina that was missing. I know that dog was found but maybe those people would want to help out

tipsy, she's a Cane corso and judging from the picture she's anywhere between 45-60 pounds already at 5-6 months (I'm terrible at weights). It would probably be a challenge in your circumstances, but if I don't get anything else, it might work while I keep working on something else....

They went to the shelter looking for Bina and fell in love with another Mastiff that was there... we already helped them get that one, so they have Bina back and the new one (as well as their other dogs already...), so I doubt they have the time or energy....

These dogs are in the Mastiff family. They do get big and need lots of training. They are though wonderful dogs and great family pets! I use to have an English Mastiff and she was as swet as can be. Make sure you know alot about these gentle giants and ready for the care of them. Whoever gets this cute puppy keep us updated! I would love to take this dog in, but the timing isnt good right now.

KK - Hubby will be home this afternoon today so if you need someone to go to the shelter for the pick-up let me know. Hope someone can take her.

K call them and tell them I'm on my way. Do we know if he has a collar and leash?

I don't have anything that large. I do have a nice big crate for him.

Can you or Kat explain the whole Foster process to me, I am in conversation right now with the SO on taking her.
Thanks in advance

Will he be eating lunch with me, you and Richard?

Looks like he will eat all our lunches and then some. :faint:

I posted and told Dems I stayed home today. Slept with the fan on last night because of my male hot flashes and now have an ear ache on my lefts side, sniffles. :blahblah:

I said maybe tomorrow. Sorry. Hope you have a back up plan for lunch.
