Handbrake wont decrypt the DVD if it has normal copy protection on it, you'll need AnyDVD or DVDDecryptor (if you can find it) in order to do this first.

Handbrake will decrypt. You have to have the VLC plug in.

It is not illegal if you are just looking to backup your own video's. You just cannot distribute them.

The PC version doesnt, although i like to do conversions in batches anyways so its a mute point

Had issues with it, and the developers blamed it on 64bit OS. go back and forth between Handbrake and AutoGK, but either give me better results than i was getting from the DVDFab encoders.

You can copy them. They dont have any stronger encryption than whats found on studio DVD's and they get copied all the time.

If you have a PC, try to use DVDShrink to first decrypt the DVD into the raw files, and then burning the files directly to a DVD using Roxio...both are free if you download them online.
