You can get a set of Falcon Ziex 912 for under 325.00 installed. I have them on my Puddle Hopper. really good handling and one other thing is they are quiet, which some of the other tires are NOT. Tiresplus.com
I don't see 185-70-14 or even 195 available in the Falcon.

I got a price quote online from Tires Plus. I can get the Falken Ziex 912 for $321.08 total which includes the tires, installation, wheel balance, valve stem and tire fee.
I also made the appt online and called today to ask if they had the tire size I wanted in stock for our appt. later today. They do not, says they can be there by Wednesday. Then the guy tells me the Falken tires do poorly in the snow. He suggested the Firestone Infinity Touring ($391 includes everything). I looked those up and the overall rating is the low 3's and the Falken I want is in the mid 4's. I will call them back and tell them I'm willing to wait until Wednesday for the Falkens to come in. Plus Falken 912's also have a $50 rebate (prepaid Visa). So I pay $321 and get a $50 Visa - decent yes?
Should I pay extra for the road hazard insurance?
Generally, no, think about how many times you have had a tire issue that the insurance covers? Me, I've been through four or five sets on my Charger in 150,000 miles, and had one flat, and a simply plug patch fixed that right up. But if say you frequent job sites where nails and screws are common, maybe, but very few things that flatten a tire cannot be simply repaired at the local place for under $30.
Yeah I started thinking back to when I actually USED that insurance - maybe 1 time. What you pay in total is close enough to the cost of 1 new tire I think I'll chance that I won't have a blow out in the inside of my brand new front tire by a tie rod like I had happen to my SUV before. I was lucky I didn't die that day. I was booking at about 40/45 on the back country roads when that happened and I could have ended up wrapped around a tree.
Went with the 195/65R14 in Falken Ziex 912 from Tires Plus for $61 per tire (internet price) plus I get a $50 prepaid Visa rebate. They seem decent enough so far.
thanks for the update, daughter is looking for tires for her Geo Storm, and those look pretty good. Her size is $80 each however.
PS - I was impressed at them being quieter than my old tires too! Oh and you saw the part about the $50 prepaid Visa card rebate right?
Yep, and printed out an online quote, after the $50 rebate plus tax, it's about $371 or $92 each, including valve stems (new rims) mounting and balancing and disposal of the old ones.
Just hope they don't mar the brand new wheels.
Just rub the car and tell the guy this is the BABY so please be careful with the new wheels
