But Pixie said a bite will just cause an abrasion so that can't be it. Nice try though.Bite wound from another pup...unnoticed...abscess...ruptures once at new owners home.
I've seen them split their tails open as well. I've never seen once cause a laceration that needed stitches due to chewing was my point. That theory just doesn't make sense. Stiches are given to deep wounds. Gnawing does not cause such wounds. Gnawing causes more of an abrasion.

I'll concede that I may have been a little quick to point the finger at your children. But if no one noticed an injury until Friday you are going to get the same story from your breeder. Also, if you can't afford a vet visit for your puppy, you probably shouldn't have gotten one  Dogs are expensive if you take care of them. If you plan on just letting him go free range, good luck with that.Is it just me or should the breeder pay the surgery fees, give me the money I paid for the dog, and give me the papers to the dog since I bought him as "pet only" I paid less not to get the papers...But one way of getting some of my money back is to breed him...
Any input anyone????
It is a pure bred black lab, very loving...I guess it is so attached to me because he is thankful I saved him...I got him here in St. Mary's and there was a 48 hour health guarantee but she won't return my calls!!!!
We weren't going to breed him until we found out that friends of ours have a pure bred female that are willing to breed. We bought him to have as pet only...
Is what she is doing fair or legal??? What do I do????
Sorry about your dog. Confront the "breeder" at their house. Get your money back. Dock the tail and snip the balls because it's a pet, not a show dog. Luv the dog the way the dog will luv you for taking care of him. I agree with Catt's thought about the abcess. Having dealt with abcesses with my cat, I know what you are going thru. I wouldn't breed this dog because of the questionable breeder. My issue is the lack of communication you are having to deal with. A reputable breeder would answer your calls.I am so sorry I have started an uproar, but to settle everyone down...Much of the dogs hair was on his tail the night we got him and was absoring much of the blood, believe it if you want...And we do have a son who wasn't home so no kids were in the house for the first 24 hours of having the dog. So I will just end this thread now because sounds like I am now being accused of harming him...Thanks for everyone who cared input...
