So, speaking of dog food...what are thoughts on feeding dogs a partial diet of deer heart and/or liver?

Anything wrong with cooking the heart/liver and mixing it in with the dry food? If it's okay to do, what ratio would you suggest?

Oh gosh no. Deer? To a DOG? How unnatural can you get? Better stick to corn and corn by-products. Maybe some menhaden fish meal and a few unpronouncable, wholesome, lab created items. :roflmao:

Don't overcook it... just enough to kill any bacteria etc is fine. Knew a guy who fed his dogs nothing but boiled deer meat and boiled brown rice. Healthiest dogs I've ever seen :yay:, and long lived!

Be careful not to overload on the organ meats. Liver is rich and can cause diarrhea. Just add in a little with each meal.

Yes yes in moderation... Can also be stuffed full of toxins (liver) depending on diet... Boiling is good. :yay:

I dont cook any of my organ meat for my dogs... and NONE of the deer meat.

raw is raw - cooked is not raw  ....... it is what it is.... the dogs digestive tract can handle different bacteria than ours :yay: its ok... thats how and why they can eat raw chicken and be ok!!

there is a ratio of bone to muscle and also a percent of organ meat they should get also... too much will give them the flyin butt!!! :killingme

Thanks ICit. We have one store in Solomons next to Boomerangs Ribs and are opening another store in Callaway in about a week. we will be next to the All Kinds Animal Hospital.
We can special order Honest Kitchen. But there are some other foods that are great, too. Stop in for samples.

Can you special Order Diamond Maitnence(Spelling?) If so how much would it be for a 40 lb bag? I hate having to go out to waldorf just to get dog food and I wont feed anything else

Dogs and cats can still get salmonella.
