Need to buy mulch. Suggestions?

We need to buy LOTS of mulch. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it cheaper to buy by the bag or by truckload delivery? We aren't rich so we need to do this as inexpensively as possible.

We re-mulched all our flower beds last fall so we got a truck load. We used Bowels Mulch you can pick it up yourself or have it delivered. If I remember correctly I think they charged us $25 for delivery. Bowles Mulch

Ive used the lumber yard there in White Plains in Charles County several times, to fill a trailer which is 10x8 was about $65.00. I think if its dumped into a pickup it was $25.00. They use a big front-end loader with big bucket on it, you'd be surprised how much of a load you can get with one scoop.

If you don't care about show-quality and can sift out the sticks yourself, St Marys landfills have mulch for free by the truckload (your truck).

If you want quality mulch, The Greenery has good stuff, but pricey, even by the truckload.

Yes, St. Mary's has it for free, but you have to load it yourself, so bring a shovel and/or a pitch fork!

Charles County landfill has it for free and they load it for you (till noon or 2 on Saturday, I don't remember, best to call first). No, they do not ask what county you are from before loading your truck/trailer.

Definitely Bowles Mulch in Great Mills, Bobby is the best. Bowles Mulch

Calvert County landfill also has free mulch and will load you up for free. We got two huge trailer loads from them this year and it was actually pretty good mulch.

I don't know where you live but we got our mulch from Pax H.S. here in Calvert last year. The band sells it for a fundraiser. We needed a lot too and they delivered since we bought over 4 bags. They are the big bags. I know it wasn't top quality but for $4/bag I wasn't complaining. I think the order deadline is 3/22 this year.
