Neutering question

So, we've decided to get our little man-pup neutered. We use the Well Pet Clinic for shots and routine stuff, and All Kinds Vet for more indepth care.

I called All Kinds and they gave me an estimate of 400.00 for the neuter. Well Pet is a fraction of that cost, their website says 80.00.

I love All Kinds, but that is alot of money right now! Have any of you had pets neutered at the Well Pet Clinic? Please let me know your results, good or bad!

Yes, there is a Well Pet Clinic in Calvert, and it's VERY good. They are located on South-Bound Route 4, near the Bowling Alley, and the Car Wash. MUCH cheaper, and just as good care as any Vet.

Neutering is simple and should not cost $400. A spay is more difficult.

He had four daughters previously and I gave him something with testicles.

He ran to the neuter clinic himself.

Had my 2 boxer doggies one spay and one neutered there. Also chipped at the same time. Both were good experiences.

Roman, Thanks for the info. Do you know if they do heart worm tests??

I believe they do, as the little neutered man now has heartguard. They won't dispense without the heartworm test. It is a fraction of the cost at the vet.

I should have specified that I am in St. Mary's County and that is the Well Pet Clinic in question. Although, unless the services are county resident specific, I work in Calvert, so could use that one instead.

Yes, the WPC does do Heart Worm Tests. Idig, you can have your pup done in Calvert.

I had my female spayed by Well Pet but I had to take her to the Charles Co. one since she was over the weight limit for St. Marys Well Pet. They were great, I picked her up a few hours later. I've use Well Pet in St. Mary's for everything else. Always had a good experience.

I had my little girl spayed at Well Pet and they did a fantastic job. Other vets were scaring the bejeesus out of me when it came to knocking her out (since she's so small) and honestly I feel like they were looking to see how much money they could get out of me. I never had that at Well Pet. Remember their costs are so low because people volunteer their time and services and folks make donations to help offset the cost.

I actually prefer the entire staff at Well Pet and would go to them for everything, but it isn't feasible due to their hours and limited availablity. I just suggest if you can pay a little extra then do so to help keep the costs low and assist with their rescue operation.

I dealt with the Well Pet Clinic in Waldorf in the past, and they always did a great job there. I had numerous cats spayed/neutered there. I haven't been there in a few years though.

$4oo.........good lord. I had my mastiff spayed, microchipped and x-ays done to check her hips for less than that at my vet.......

I dealt with the Well Pet Clinic in Waldorf in the past, and they always did a great job there. I had numerous cats spayed/neutered there. I haven't been there in a few years though.

I had my Boston Spayed there before the WPC opened up here in Calvert. She had a reaction to the anesthesia, and had to be taken back the next day, because she couldn't hold anything down. She got an IV, and a Shot for Nausea, and they didn't charge a dime for that! They were just wonderful, and my Pup was perfect after that. The WPC here in Calvert is perfect too. They are all some caring, and compasionate people. We adopted a 17 year-old Cat from a Friend that passed away, and he was severly matted. I called Calvert WPC to see if they could groom him. He hates the Vet, so he had to be sedated. They told me ahead of time, that they do not groom, but because of the severity of his matts, they put him to sleep to get the job done. I got his shots done at that time too. You have nothing to worry about by taking your pets to either Calvert, or Charles County.
