Just sneakin' around....
nah. I do have a theme song though..
Who's that knocking on my door
Who's that knocking on my door
Who's that knocking on my door, asked the fair young maiden.

Quit yer grinnin' and drop yer linen, said Barnacle Bill the Sailor.
Open the door and lie on the floor, said Barnacle Bill the Sailor.

For your consideration ...

The only modern bits I snuck in are a small lawn tractor alternator and a small battery so it will have running lights and a bilge pump.

There's a bilge area? Seems so flat bottomed as not to have one.

And what's the max RPM of that engine. And what its gallon per hour usage? And, with its weight, is that engine mounted in the center of the boat to keep the center of balance so the boat is level? And, will there be an actual maiden voyage?

Asking for a non-boat builder friend.

There is (will be) a cockpit deck that is 3 1/2" above the bottom. It's left off/open in the stern for access to the rudder quadrant, steering cables, etc.

max RPM is 1200. Normal running RPM between 600 and 800. No idea what the fuel consumption will be; only installing about 5 gallon tank in the console to gravity feed the carb. The engine will be mounted at roughly the center of flotation (which is less than half the boat length from the transom) which will give her a slight bow-up trim (static) when standing behind the console operating the boat and it will trim up some more when being shoved ahead.

The official maiden voyage will probably be a well-attended local community event...with a test run or two before that, of course.

his "proprietary" mixture of linseed oil, turpentine, diesel fuel and stain. Going "all original" all the way. Topside and outside will be painted white.
I took a steam bending class with a friend at St Michaels. He would drag home Catboats from up North and rebuild them.
One of that instructors recommendations to keep the wood happy and stable was to soak the stringers, planks and so on with anti-freeze.

A foundry and machine shop business right here in Mandal Norway, called Marna, produced an engine almost identical to the one I'm putting in this skiff. Also 6HP. There are still boats running around here with them and of course they are easily spotted from the distinctive sound. Here is a cool video showing one being started. Not looking forward to that aspect of this build... ;-p

It sounds like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
