New Carpeting

I've done searches for flooring companies in SoMD. I've seen many kudos for different companies who install hardwood. How about carpet? Has anybody replaced old carpeting with new carpet recently? I have two small bedrooms and a short hallway...the rest of the home is already hardwood. Where do I buy it and who installs it? Help! (Budget is a concern)

Doyles Carpet and use Meagan...

Nothing to see here
I looked locally and priced carpet that I really wanted. Then I called a carpet place in NC who was able to ship me the same carpet for $150 less and that included shipping. Then I had a friend I know install the carpet. :yay:

I am so very blessed
You're welcome!

Lowes runs specials on carpet installation - whole house for less than $200 for special orders. Might want to check that out as an option.
My mom bought carpet from Lowe's and had them install it for her. While the carpet was nice, and the price good, the carpet installation was absolutely horrible. Seams not matching up correctly, the nap of the carpet was not consistent so it appeared that the colors weren't uniform from room to room, not cleaning up after themselves. I'd likely never use Lowe's to install my carpeting after looking at what they did for her.

I used to work briefly for Clark's Flooring, and I'd recommend them. You'll not find a more trustworthy man than Ben Clark. Tell him I sent ya if you make contact with him. :yay:

Thank you. They seem to be the higher end of the spectrum...not that I'm opposed. I'm looking for a medium quality carpet (kids and pets) and quality installation. Neither kids nor pets are potty or food trained at this point. :wench:

I think you are right about Griffin's. We had them do almost our entire house this summer. They did a great job, pleasant and professional. But I'd bet the other places are a little cheaper.
