she is beautiful :). her name fits her just right. how old is capt morgan?

Here is another suggestion for the granddog. I got the boil in a bag rice (white rice) and boiled it for the time it said. then i got either ground chicken or ground turkey and boiled it and drained all the grease and rinsed it and mixed it in with the rice. I gave bruno when she gets messed up tummy a little bit at a time (1c) bruno is also a big dog i don't know what kind of dog your daughter has but if she has any questions she can ask me or you can ask me in pm as I deal with doggy and messed up tummy atleast once a month for about a week due to the locals feeding her stuff they shouldn't be feeding her (popcorn as she is allergic). I try to tell them but they all think they know better than I do being the dogs owner.

:nono:..

hate to say it but you really need to use the "real" rice ... .the processed rice is harder on the dogs... more so for pancreatic dogs... its hard on the pancreas and liver..

if the pup had a bad case of it... then I hope the admit the pup to the hospital... Iv fluids and antibiotics... anti nausea meds... are the only way if they are that bad.

my moms dog just went thru this.... and he was overnight at the hospital...next day just fine.

I have worked with many pancreatitis dogs at the vet... and a we always go with a low fat...low protien.. diet ...

Captn. Morgan is 4 years old. I know she was using the white rice, not sure if it was boil in bag or not. The vet didnt specify any particular kind of rice. I'll check with her. Thanks.

I was told to use the regular rice by my Vet, and it cooks easy in with the broth of the Chicken. Capt Morgan is very cute. She seems to be in deep thought in the picture. Enjoy her!!

Yes, I think she was in deep thought. Trying to figure out where the treats and toys were kept, lol. She has fit in quite nicely with our routines though.

Kinger

Good News, my granddog, King, is doing better. Yesterday he wouldnt eat anything, not even chicken and that boy never turns chicken down. He would drink water though. My daughter just called to tell me that he ate some chicken and rice (brown) and kept it down. He is no longer having bloody diarrihea. She said his "BM" looks back to normal. She asked me to pass on Thank You's to everyone who offered advice and support. :yahoo:
