Power with Control
Agree. But they don't enforce handicap spots now. Better idea - put handicap spots up close and ticket/tow abusers. Put EV charging spaces as far away as possible. EV drivers are health conscious and won't mind the walk.

Sure, if you dont mind increasing the cost of the station considerably since you are usually getting your power feed from the business. In which case, placing it all the way across the parking lot might an tens of thousands to the cost since you are now tearing up hundreds of feet of parking lot. Not always the case, the ones they put in at Harris Teeter in California are at the back of the lot. But thats why big box store chargers are usually up front, simply cost. I agree, handicap and fire lane laws should be enforced more. Of course, the folks in the friken war zone that is downtown LP city might disgree with me over where the cops need to be.

Just FYI, Giant has installed a pair of EV charge stations. Right where handicap parking should be....
Yeah, noticed that. I think it also said it was FREE. I wonder how long before they start charging for it.
Both Harris Teeter and Wal-Mart drive me crazy with the specialty parking spots - my wife uses a placard she hangs from the mirror when she can't walk due to her knees, and sometimes needs the little electric cart to ride in - but - one sign for vets, one for moms with small kids, one sign for law enforcement, ANOTHER for law enforcement - another for picking up merchandise - and all the handicap ones are used.

Well no wonder - looks like the best two dozen spots are spoken for. And if it's some of these stores? The employees aren't following company policy and they are parking THEIR cars up close. I've seen it.
