They bought Roses II to pacify the morality police. Wahoo, the imfamous strip joint is shut down, never to return again.
"FDR" from Great Mills Rd to 235 is a private road, it's not county owned and unless they buy out a lot of business and residential property it's never going to be connected.

They;ve drawn a line on the map and can now extort money from any builder who comes near that line.

Study your Maryland civics, this county can't blow it's nose without approval from Annapolis and it ain't coming.

Not in our lifetime anyway.

FDR is mapped to continue from the private portion across Great Mills Road through the (to be leveled) Roses II building and will terminate across from Lexington Park ES.

Nothing is dead. It's mapped all the way from Wildewood to Lexington Park Elementary School. That's why the county bought Roses II. That building will make way for FDR.

You are right in the amount of time it will take to complete the whole thing. Probably another 20-30 years from now.

Probably - by which time we will all be ready for that Retirement Community that was mentioned to be built!

Please reread the thread.

No one is talking about what is.

We're talking about things that are planned. And to do that, one must look at P&Z maps.

Ah, you missed the sarcasm, I guess. I'm saying planning is one thing, execution, another.

Yes, you are right about that. This whole FDR thing was first thought up in the 70's. Look where it's at now so we'll all be past retirement before it's done.

I believe the word plan is being misused, what it I think we have here is a pipe dream, planing would include consideratoin for how to execute the plan (like funding, acquiring rights of way etc).
This is a half asssed, waste of taxpayer money, political hack job.
Punching a road thru from Great Mills Rd to Lexington Park ES does what? It certainly does nothing to improve the flow of traffic on THE North South corridor, it does nothing to move traffice EAST WEST in the county.

The "age restricted multi family" units will be to the right of the pond closer to Shady Mile Drive. The other stuff is all in front of the pond according to the map I have. The "pond" is actually a storm water management pond.

What are you talking about??? We are talking about Amber Drive which is off Chancellor's Run and you're talking about Shady Mile?????

My co-workers tell me the local government around here is filled with a bunch of typical politicians running a good ol' boy system, which is why I have to drive roughly an hour for a mediocre movie theater and roughly 1.5 hours for a nice one. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not, but considering that a movie theater as ####ty as the one in Lexington Park even exists... it's plausible :p.

If I had millions to invest, I'd bribe... errr I mean, lobby them all and contribute to their campaign funds, so I could build a modern movie theater with stadium seating simply to watch the ####ty theater go out of business.
