ZTecknik has a sale on 'blemished' ( I dare someone to come and find the blemish, I couldn't find it) pipes.. $399.

I couldn't pass it up. It looks great and even sounds better.. Not REAL loud.. picked up a little volume, but it has an awesome growl.

Have the Db killler out now, will ride like that for a few days to see if I like it, probably put the Db killer back in it.

I thought this was an absurd tread, $400 for an exhaust pipe. How frivolous!

Then, I priced replacement exhaust for my dirt bikes.

:yikes:

I know guys that spend more than that on plastic and stickers and different, kewl colored parts!

Say it aint so!

Especially a louder pipe. I thought everyone liked having a really really quiet bike that sounded like a Singer sewing machine.

I bowl overhand
$400 for a new pipe because it is louder and makes a cooler sound.

Not much in HP improvement, but a serious Torque improvement at cruising RPM (4 - 5000), at least a 15 - 20% gain. SO a slight performance improvement, and a slight farkle improvement..

And not loud, but it doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner anymore.

yeah, $399 is on the CHEAP side for a performance pipe.

I THINK this one is normally $699 or $799, but not sure.

Now I need to save up for new shocks.. now their price is TRULY shocking..

The holy grail is a big two stroke;

...but there is, for sure, room for a quiet bike, especially for my neighbors.

15-20% gain? Get out of here! Really?

Going off of memory and read the chart wrong..

As you go from idle to redline the torque and HP increase in a straight line except for between 3500 - 4500 where there is a significant drop off. The pipe basically smooths the line, and maintains the performance increase thorughout the RPM range. The lines basically match back up at 4500 RPM, though slight improvement throughout with the new pipe.

Now aps, you have an upright riding position on your v-storm, not a "sit-up-and-beg" one like the chopper guys have. That must crush the lower back, no wonder they don't ride distance.

That's what I said, halfway between the cruiser barko lounger and knees in your armpit sport bike

It's no joke. I paid $400 for my Vance & Hines "Longshots" in 2001 but I got 2 pipes:whistle:
And, they're long enough to keep the loudness behind me.

But do you set off car alarms when you putt through a parking lot?
J/K, nice looking ride. :yay:
Yes I do and it cracks me up everytime it happens!
I have baffles in them so they're not obnoxiously loud at idle but they do "crack" when I get into it. 88 cu. in. (1450cc's).
Thanks Ed; I do love riding it. Can't wait until the weekend!
Does anyone here know if we're still banned from Old Town Alexandria? A few years back I heard that Harley's were, because people complained of their loudness???
Not like there is a lot of engineering involved in those pipes.. aren't they just that.. pipes?
Hey! Those pipes are a precise, exact, fine tuned, custom length. An inch longer and they'd be too quiet and an inch shorter and they'd be obnoxious!:lmao:
I really think we're paying for all that chrome. Chrome won't take you home but it sure catches the eyes...

Son just bought a used GSXR and discovered it has a $780 aftermarket set of headers and exhaust on it. Titanium.

Did he get a good deal on it, besides the pipes?

In dirt bike world I am learning that some guys are VERY proud of all the after market they put on a bike that'll soon need a $1,500 engine rebuild. Freaking four stokes...
