I got some pics from jbooty and her bike is very nice too. I want one with less stuff on it though. But I appreciate the look-see. You all are just so darn nice and helpful. Thanks for everything.

Just curious, but what does my bike have that you'd rather not have?

Oh Lordy, your bike is beautiful! I'm just not too partial to the bright red I guess and the bags. But that is totally my opinion. I'd rather have a more muted color, like gray or black.

Well if you'd like to come over and sit on it or get the feel of it, you're more then welcome to..

 just don't wash it

Actually, the brighter colors are safer because they're easier for folks in cars to see.

You all are so funny and nice. I had to leave early on Friday so I couldn't get back to you all while this was fresh. Too bad. Funny stuff. I appreciate the invite jbooty. I'm still looking and test 'feeling' bikes so I'll put your pretty bike on my list. Just got my license so the bike is next. Red would be safer for sure. And that Harley sound and feel is like no other - legally anyway. Foreign bikes just don't have that.

I'm working today - Sunday - so I can't post much. But I really appreciate all the replies I've gotten. Thank you very much folks. I'll check back later or tomorrow.

Hve you considered one of these?
I'm not a big butt jewelry fan, but putting an automatic transmission in one seems kind of sacreligous..

Now anyone can go out and kill them selves without taking the time to learn how to ride.

:yeahthat: but I doubt anyone who can't shift could get that thing out of the driveway. Have you ever ridden a chopper? Not easy at all.

Automatic transmission on a bike? Why? Isn't that part of the fun of driving a bike - the shifting? Next thing they'll have a tv screen on the handle bars. Or do they already? sheeeesh. Watch Amazing Police Chases while I'm cruising at 80 mph - or the Soaps - whatever.

I went by the new Harley dealer in Hughesville yesterday and did a 'test sit' and some research. The new 883 xl had zero chrome, zero flash. It looked very similar to the foreign bikes I looked at. A Harley without even a little bit of chrome just doens't seem right. And a person would have to upgrade the seat. Talk about hard and uncomfy. And those seats run a few hundred bux at the least. Seems they get you on the accessories with any bike now a days. You buy the part with the motor and wheels for $5000 and then IF you want it to look pretty or be comfortable, you have to add things, like the seat and/or the tach or the chrome thingees. Next thing you know you done spent another $2000.

I'm learning so much about his bike stuff. I sat on a friends older Hugger that is in perfect shape and I'm really liking that bike. It felt good sizewise. But I'll keep looking til I find the 'one'. With some chrome already on it. Not gawdy mind you. But at least what I want. No settling at that price.

I got a deposit from someone on my bike yesterday evening. So, it will be gone sometime this week.. :yay:
