Hello!

I will be moving to Hollywood in about 2 weeks. I've never lived outside of the state of Minnesota before (short of a brief 6 months in Singapore) and so I've got some questions.

My son is nearly 2 and I will need to find a pediatrician when I get out there as he's coming up on his 2 year check up. Where can I find a great local pediatrician that I don't have to wait years to get in and see?

I love to sing karaoke. What are some bars and what nights do they have karaoke?

What are some great resources for trying to find a job? What about meeting people?

Any help would be great!

The Hole in the Wall is actually right down the road from my parent's house (where I'll be living cuz I'm going back to school). I've heard it's kind of a rough bar.

I thought the witness relocation program would set you up with a job

J/K welcome to SoMD

There's LOTS of bars here and many have karaoke nights.

Dr. Amit Sheth is a great pediatrician...he's located in California, MD (10 minutes or so South of Hollywood). Here's his contact info:

22878 Three Notch Rd
California, MD 20619

Dr Dhillon in Leonartown 301-475-9499 but he likes to pad the bill with tests but I am told this is common.

Holiday Inn in Solomons used to do it, not sure if they still do.

Banner ads here, classifieds for a job.

Take a marker and make an X on the floor, then say "I am HOT and single and I love motorcycles :diva:", then tell them to start the line on the X.

I've been there. Didn't seem rough to me  The karaoke is VERY country though. There is karaoke at Donovan's on Thursday nights. Younger crowd and more modern music. It's not that far from Hollywood. I've also enjoyed myself at Toots. They have a DJ on Friday nights if you're into dancing and bikers, of course, :yum:

Look in the classifieds on this site for jobs.

Heard good things about Dr. Sheth and Dr. Dhillon but no :baby: for me.

Welcome to the neighborhood :howdy:

It's not all that rough, except for "Backwards Bob".

I would recommend Dr. Dhillon in Leonardtown. He is available by phone at just about any hour of the day or night, and takes a really personal interest in kids and their parent(s).

Welcome.:howdy:

Well at least I know that people in SoMD have a sense of humor and my sarcasm won't be completely out of place...

Yeah... long story really... but since my son was born nearly 2 years ago my father has been begging me to move out to Maryland and I kept putting him off. I now, however, plan to go back to school (and am already accepted out there) and so now I'm moving to Maryland and in with my parents until such time as I can obtain suitable employment and an apartment that's not where all the sex offenders live.

Love that website. There's one in my neighborhood that's listed. I see him riding his bike sometimes and one or two more a cpl miles outside my neighborhood. I always check back on a regular basis.

We also live in Hollywood, with a 2 year old son. We take him to Beena Khetpal with the Breton Medical Group. I know people who like her so much, they're still taking their kids to her as teenagers.

Where in Hollywood are you moving?

Half Pone Point Road... which apparently means half a loaf of bread or something.
