Newly Engaged!

I just got engaged a few weeks ago and am so excited! The planning process has started and we've booked the venues. Right now I am researching places to register and am considering JCPenney. They have a lot of brands at reasonable prices and also carry furniture which I am interested in. Has anyone else registered there?

Thanks for all the ideas! Yea I have heard of people registering at Lowe's but I just dont need home improvement things yet (as we dont even know where we are living). I also want to make sure the place has a generous return policy like JCP since there will likely be things we dont need.

Target is a common place to register with a good return policy. We are registered there as well as Amazon.com.

I've heard the opposite, but it is a very common place to register. Someone told me they had to exchange the item they wanted to return with something from the same department. Don't know if the rules are the same now.

They're out to get us
most of the stores listed are the main ones i've seen done for registries. Maybe I overlooked it, but another favorite is registering at Pottery Barn. Dunno if you need to be local (if there's even a local one) or if you can do it online...

I think it's called Pottery barn, anyway

Yeah, I have actually heard the opposite about Target too, (that they were not accomodating with returns). I know with JCP they let you return anything within a whole year, which isn't always the case with other stores.

Bravo for you but....

I know this will be deep-sixed but maybe it would be nice to NOT ASK for anything and just enjoy the people around you? We're in a recession. People don't have a lot of extra money, some don't have jobs. Just a thought.

Don't worry you will find one! I think I just lucked out b/c they said November wasn't as popular as October. Good luck!
