No bathroom doors!

I need everyone's opinions. My little one started at a pre-school program at the CDC in Indian Head today. They do not have doors on the bathroom in the classroom. Two children are allowed in at a time. It is completely open to the classroom. Not only do 2 teachers and 23 children have full view of my half naked child, but so do any parents that may walk in. You go to the classroom to drop off and pick up your child.

I spoke with the manager about it and she did not care about my concern. She claimed that it was for safety issues. So why not put a door up that does not lock or put a curtain up?

How would you feel about this? It's really bothering me and I'm regretting putting my child in the program.

What safety concern do they have that other pre-school programs aparently don't have?

I don't think I would be able to deal with that... and the lack of concern from the manager would piss me off even more. My child would be out.

While doing the orientation, there were 2 other parents with me. Neither of them seemed concerned. I've been wondering if it's just me. I talked with coworkers and they said that it's always been like that there. I just cannot believe that others have been perfectly fine with this.

Right now, I do not have anyone else to watch her. I've been making phone calls looking for someone to watch her that will not charge a fortune and that can deal with my schedule.

In what area are you looking for daycare? I wish there was something I could do to help. :huggy:

Anywhere from Lexington Park to Indian Head. The problem is that I leave my house at 5:30ish in the morning and do not get home until nearly 6:30 in the evening.

Thats just wrong. I dont care how old you are taking a duece should be private, thats why kids in diapers often go behind the couch to do it.

As someone who used to teach and work with kids, I feel like that would get distracting. I also feel like it could be embarrassing for kids going to bathrooms. I know most little kids don't have the same bathroom hangups and don't really care about privacy, but some might, especially if they were sick or something. Couldn't a half door (like a stall) or like someone else said a curtain be used?

So they wont even put up a LOW curtain... just high enough that they could see the child is ok...

but not see the "ACT" taking place?
