Okay, I got one minute into that and had to call it quits. Quite possibly the most ignorant thing I've ever heard - at least this week so far.

Tee hee! Like, omigawd, Dave should totally be a prison guard! He'd like bring everyone potato chips!

Do you, seriously, have any perception of how this makes your mindset appear?

This is why I love free speech because I could never make progressives appear this silly on my own.

For those who'd rather read "the issue":

Approximately 23,000 inmates in 36 Texas prisons are now only eating two meals a day on Saturday's and Sunday's, The New York Times reports. A meal that has been renamed "brunch" is typically served between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., followed by dinner between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Michael Lyons, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice told the source the cuts -- which also include replacing cartoned milk with the powdered variety, which administrators say would save $3.5 million a year annually -- were made in consultation with the agency's health officials. Prisoners who have been prescribed a particular diet due to health problems will continue to receive lunch on the weekends.

Texas Prisons Cancel Weekend Lunch For Inmates to Cut Costs - International Business Times

Texas is not the only state that has resorted to feeding prisoners less in order to cut costs. Both Ohio and Arizona prisons also serve two meals per day on the weekends, while Georgia prisoners go without lunch on Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's.

How many of these 'guests of the state' were eating three square meals a day in the month leading up to their arrest, trial, conviction, appeal and denial of appeal?

Would THIS face lie?

In other news, when interviewed about the loss of a third daily meal, a state guest named Bubba Dean Pursesnatcher has this to say;

"Well, I'm a pretty big boy and could afford to miss a meal here and there. Hehehehe. Also, I tend to be philosophical about life. If you'd don't even have regular meals in the first place, jail is a nice place to get that sort of stability in ones life. Further, for my line of work, when I got back on the job, being a little lighter is actually an asset and improves cash flow and helps reduce work stoppages and other interruptions. All in all, I think it's a good thing and, certainly, nothing to go into cardiac arrest over. Get it? Cardiac. Arrest? Jail. Arrest. hehehehe. During my stay, I am working on a side career of stand up comedy. One ought to diversify ones resume these days. I'll be here until, oh, next spring so, come on out and enjoy the show and, remember, tip your jailer. They're people, too! heheheh..."

:coffee:Yea, we'll get right on that.

You do realize in the Navy and Marine Corps, you can be imprisoned on bread and water rations for crimes that don't even rise to the level of misdomeanors in the civilian world.

Texas, you've got my :yay:

"They had plenty of food. Didn't you eat?"

"Nah. All they had was sh1t sammitches and I don't like bread."

When I was living in Hawaii, I met a guy whose father had a contract to supply slaughtered hogs to the state prison. Once a week they's hop in the pickup and hit the dog pound to pick up more "hogs"

If you want more than two meals a day, don't commit a crime and end up in prison. :yay:

Yep! There's a lot of people out here not committing crimes who don't get three hots and a cot. I know there are some jails which charge prisoners for their food and any extras. I say good!
