A very good Alabama is going to obliterate a so-so Tejas team.

If Nebraska had any kind of offense at all, which Alabama very much does, Texas wouldn't be here anyway because 'Bama's d is good enough to shut Texas down like the Huskers did.

Alabama 31
Texas 17

:buddies: I said 35-21

I've done well this year 87% on ESPN Bowl Mania.

i don't see how Bama's offense is going to put up 30+ points. The game against UF was a fluke.

To the first, I say "So"? to the latter I say "I disagree". :buddies:

defense yds/game:
2 Alabama
3 Texas

scoring defense:
2 Alabama
8 Texas

offense ypg:
16 Texas
32 Alabama

scoring offense:
3 Texas
25 Alabama

Ok so maybe Bama scored above 30 in 8 of 13 games. Two of those were against top 10 scoring defenses (VTech and UF). I think Bama will win, even though Texas has better stats, but I still don't see how you don't consider Texas a stellar defense. Other than the hiccup against TAMU they were great all season.

Now, go look who each team earned those stats against.

This ain't the NFL where stats are relatively 'fungible'.

Exactly! The Big 12 is an offensive conference while the SEC is a defensive conference. I just went through the average rank of the offense and defense that they played. Including the FCS team that Bama played at a low rank, Bama played against lesser offenses and better defenses. So their defense wasn't tested as much as Texas's, while Bama's offense played teams similar to UF, but didn't do as well.

If Texas had very similar stats on defense to Bama, playing against tougher offensive opponents, what does that mean??
