NYC Police Shooting - Where's the outrage SOMD?

I know this isn't a local story but this board seems to really get fired up when a racially charged incident occurs involving young black males. That is especially true when the young black male commits or is alleged to have committed a crime. Now that it appears that the shoe is on the other foot, again, where is the outrage? Where are all the folks that post here about justice and equality, etc. etc.?

Just curious. Have a nice day. :yay:

Why don't we wait for the facts and then post responsibly? Ah, but that would be inconsistent with most postings on this forum.

What outrage??

From what I understand, they rammed an unmarked poice car full of undercover cops TWICE. At that point I think the cops thought they were being attacked and responded accordingly.

I thought the cops were justified BEFORE I heard what race the victims were, so race had no connection to my thinking justified or not, or to my lack of outrage.

The story is so screwed up that its hard to believe either side. It was a sad deal. I am more sad for the children and the fiance than anything else. Sharpton and the rest of those clowns can go F themselves. If its on the cops then it will come out in due time.

What makes it racial? Were all the cops white?

Why haven't we seen the word "alleged" attached to the Police behavior in this story? The media ALWAYS attaches the word to any behavior by a SUSPECT even if the incident is on video....."The suspect was ALLEGED to have killed the four people in the vehicle when the Police shot him..." That is ALL you ever see from the media. Right now Channel 4 just did it AGAIN!!!!.

Barbara Harrison: "The family of a 92 year old woman who was shot by police for ALLEGEDLY shooting at them...."

I'm tired of it.

Actually, from what I've read and learned from the TV (written like that on purpose), NYPD policy prohibits shooting at moving vehicles unless the officers are being fired upon. Again, I have not seen the documentation but that's what's being reported.

As soon as I saw Sharpton was involved, this became a non-issue. His presence kills any credibility.

COMMISSIONERS POINT OF VIEW:Kelly has said police shot at the car after it drove forward and struck an undercover officer and an unmarked police minivan. The information was based on interviews with witnesses and two officers who did not fire their weapons, he said.

STRIPPERS POINT OF VIEW: However, Trini Wright, a dancer at the strip club where Bell's bachelor party was held, told the Daily News she was going to a diner with the men and was putting her makeup bag in the trunk of their car when the police minivan appeared.

If you are using your vehicle to hurt me then you are getting one between the eyes.

And isn't that a damn shame? The "black community" should fire Sharpton because he does them no favors with his constant race-baiting. But, of course, the liberal white-guilt media made him the celebrity spokesperson he is, so what are ya gonna do?

New York Times:

The undercover officer who fired the first shots Saturday was a Hispanic black, according to the police. Two other officers who fired at the Altima were black, and another two were white, one of whom went through one clip and reloaded his pistol, firing a total of 31 shots.

Why does this have to be about race? The cops may have been wrong here, but not because the guy who died is black. He could have been blue for all I care.

Sharpton makes it racial, instead of just being about police over-reacting and violating policy. That's just wrong, and it only serves to hurt race relations. Sharpton thrives on the us-them mentality, and does everything he can to deepen the divide.

That's what I was wondering, but apparently most of the media isn't telling that side of the story.
