Like this forum everybody has their own views and opinions just like Rosie does. Whether she is right or wrong she does have a fan base where people will still stick by her. They have indicated other networks are already talking to her about a show of her own.

So I don't think it will be a loss to Rosie not talking to Elizabeth. Elizabeth is only known for being a contestant on Survivor. Do you really think people are going to continue tuning into The View to watch Elizabeth discussing her political views? It's doubtful.
Having a fan base isn't cause for wonder. Jeff Dahlmer had a fan base after he was convicted. Saddam had a fan base. Heck, some people voted for Kerry!

I think that Elizabeth tried to discuss issues, and finally got fed up with the BS. Rosie couldn't explain her insinuations, and trusted that a "friend" (since September!) would just cover for her. That friend didn't, she expected a little personal reponsibility from Rosie. Rosie's not about talking in full thoughts, just insinuation. She's not about fact based discussions (heat won't melt steel!), she's only about idiotic points. Did she raise The View's ratings? Sure, but they only really had one way to go. Anything would have raised their ratings. They'll raise again with her gone, for the people who want to tune in and see what'll happen next.

So, Rosie's mad because Elisabeth didn't support her when the media said Rosie called our troops terrorists? But, DID Rosie call our troops terrorists? And if she did, why should Elisabeth support her if it isn't what she believes? Isn't the view supposed to be about opinions? It's ok for Rosie to have an opinion but not Elisabeth? I guess it's ok if Elisabeth's opinion is the same as Rosie's.

Do you think people really cared about Rosie's political views? They just watched to see her make an azz of herself. It's like a bad train wreck...hard to turn away from. So yes, ratings will go down, but not because of lack of intelligent viewpoints. More because the View will be less Jerry Springer now.

And isn't Liberalism is supposed to be about tolerance?

I think they also mutter some sort of bull#### about being more compassionate too - but it's obvious that's also a major load of steaming feces.

What she said was that we invaded Iraq and 600,000-some Iraqi civilians are dead and WHO are the terrorists?

Personally, her meaning was clear to me but other people can decide for themselves.

They should do a survivor based on this. They could have like Ann Coulter, Hass, etc on one team and Rosie, Garofalo, et al on the other.

I don't think the argument had anything to do w/political beliefs because they know they have opposite beliefs. It had to do w/being a friend. A "real friend" is there for you and supports you whether what you say is right or wrong.

:eyebrow: No, a real friend wouldn't pander to your ego or allow themselves to be bullied into telling you what you want to hear.

Rosie and Elizabeth are co-workers, not friends. And your real friend does not support you when you voluntarily and repeatedly make an ass out of yourself on national TV. Typically they'll encourage you to cut it out.

Elizabeth wasn't obligated to defend Rosie. Rosie has been a celebrity MUCH longer than Elizabeth and can certainly take care of herself.

People know Rosie is not afraid to say what she feels (whether it’s wrong or right). When Elizabeth announced she was pregnant a couple weeks ago, Rosie said – she didn’t want to get into arguments w/her anymore. If you watched the show that day it was Elizabeth who kept the argument going. You didn’t see the shows Producers cutting for a commercial, even when Joy and the other Guest Host said to. Instead they split the screen and let the confrontation continue, which did make it look like an eposide on Jerry Springer - they know as does the other women on the show – Rosie keeps the ratings up and it will make the news to keep people turned in.

Well, if you watched the show you would have heard Rosie and Elizabeth admit that they became friends in September. Also, if you watched the show yesterday, which was taped before the fight, you would have heard Rosie say to Elizbeth that for her 30th birthday she was giving she, her husband and daughter a one week vacation down to Rosie's Miami house. I don't think coworkers provide those type of gifts.

Incredibly rich coworkers do. Oprah routinely gives lavishly to her staff. Celebrities all the time lend their beach houses or mansions to other celebrities. Congressmen are always referring to each other as "my good friend" when you know they loathe each other.

People like that don't have normal friends like you and I might have.

I actually got to watch this particular show and no sooner than Rosie got her rant completed, the first thing that came out of my mouth to my wife was "I wonder how many in the media will pick up on the fact that Rosie just called our troops terrorists". Well, they heard the same thing I heard and Rosie can't justify it no matter how many people she tries to get say "Do you believe I really think :blahblah: ..."

The view became about Rosie EVERYTHING. There was one show where they were talking about depression (the one where Rosie hung upside-down as a method for controlling depression). Everything someone said they had (depression, dyslexia, AADD, abused as a child, you name it) Rosie had it too. Everything had to be about Rosie. She demands to be front and center on everything. The View was no longer The View. It was THE ROSIE.

Consider this one other thing... Rosie seems to suffer from every mental ailment known to man. This might explain a lot about her undisciplined behavior.

The only way Coulter could win is if they had a hair flinging contest.
