OK, who's hanging the shoes from the overhead lines?

On Town Creek Drive, just across from the school, there are three pairs of shoes, laces tied together, hanging from an overhead line. Not all three on one line, but one pair each on three separate lines.

There is a meaning to this. I can't remember exactly, but is supposed to be some kind of boundary line thing. Like territory or something. I heard another explanation once too I think but can't remember that either. I'll try to find something on it.

Well we see what a genius you are. :duh: You should've studied more in school vs. worrying about boundaries...

Impress me, climb the pole & lay them across the lines... :jet:

I guess it was different where I grew up....the reason those shoes were over the telephone lines was because of a bunch of teenagers getting drunk and stupid....the one that passed out first lost his shoes :lmao: ...and before you ask....I NEVER lost my shoes :lmao:

:yeahthat:

It's all over in some parts of Philly. I think because teens saw a pair of sneakers and decided to see if they could get a pair there too.

Of course, not their own - now that would be idiotic. :lmao:

They sure are.
Back in my day we used to leave the little geek children in the shoes when we tossed them over the lines.

of course now with all the PC crap and Hate crimes laws, makes it damn near illegal to do that to the little wimps.

OMG. In my neighborhood? There are these four boys that run around that look absolutely stupid, but think they are pretty tough. They're probably the culprits.

I noticed that the other day!! My mom lives in TC, and she watches my kids when I'm at work. When I saw the shoes, it reminded me of a tree at JMU where the kids always threw thier shoes up there. I never understood why tho. I hope its not a gang/turf thing!!!! :eyebrow:

I tossed my boots when I processed out of active duty. So did every other idiot who outprocessed with me. Nothing to do with gangs or drugs.

That is the shoe tree from SMCM. When you had sex for the first time at the school you threw your sneakers up in the tree...The shoes are NEVER taken down...until they rot away.
