See ya Biatch...

MSNBC host Keith Olbermann announced Friday that he is leaving the network and has taped his last "Countdown" show.
MSNBC issued a statement that it had ended its contract with the controversial host, with no further explanation. Olbermann hosted the network's most popular show, but his combative liberal opinions often made him a target of critics. Olbermann did not explain why he was leaving.

I've never watched him - maybe a clip or two in a link.

Not sure which is funnier - the people posting on HuffPo crying because he's gone and blaming Fox News or the people posting on HotAir.com laughing at the people crying on Huffpo and celebrating that he's gone. Either way, it's amusing.

What I find disturbiing...

His show was rated like 5th/6th down the line of Cable talk/news/commentary.
He had over 1.2 mil viewers.....
They actually LIKE???? to hear him faun, dribble, accuse. & be snarky?
Really?
Don't we have our own Olberman here...(Lance?)

Of the few times I have seen clips of Olberman (often freaking out & frothing) I just wish he would have attended my highschool...and the "team" had a few unwatched minutes with him during wrestling practice....we knew how to deal with mouthy, snotty, lying jerks.

MSNBC might gain a little bit of credibility if the get rid of Schultz and Maddow also.

Hate to tell you, but getting rid of the messengers will not get rid of the message.

Take our local rejects Nonuts and nhboy, look how much of their crap comes from blogs instead of the big name bobbleheads. These people do exist, and pretending they don't will not solve anything.

No. Lawrence O'Donnell and Rachel Maddow get higher ratings.

Um...check the facts one more time:
NEWS RACE
THURS. JAN. 20, 2011

FOXNEWS O'REILLY 2,918,000
FOXNEWS HANNITY 2,079,000
FOXNEWS BAIER 1,940,000
FOXNEWS SHEP 1,786,000
FOXNEWS BECK 1,780,000
FOXNEWS GRETA 1,460,000
MSNBC OLBERMANN 1,106,000
CNN PIERS 1,025,000
MSNBC MADDOW 976,000
MSNBC O'DONNELL 855,000
MSNBC SCHULTZ 760,000
CNN COOPER 740,000
MSNBC HARDBALL 700,000

Even late night Greta can beat snarky Olberman by 30%...
SO: I heard that MSNBC is in for a shake-up if comcast bought them out: How will that change the programming to actually get viewers? Reruns of Beck & O'Reilly?

I think he is the first to go of the extreme Left from NBC. He was charged with donating to Democrat party people as he interviewed them.

Comcast is cleaning house.

This is one night, and this is not the demographic the industry uses to measure ratings success.

If Msnbc wants to get more viewers, they need to become the left wing version of FOX News. They've got to decide, are they going to be a news channel, an opinion channel or a documentary channel. Can't do all three because it just doesn't work and Msnbc's ratings are an example of that.

Haven't they been trying that for years? They practically mirror Fox. Could it be that far left liberal just doesn't sell?

Olbermann's style doesn't sell. No matter who else Msnbc has and how well liked they are, Msnbc has been the channel of Olbermann for years. He was the face of the network.

Honestly, with him gone, it gives Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell a chance to shine. Give it a few months, I think Msnbc will be much better off than they were with Olbermann front and center.

O'Donnell is very intelligent and he very much understands the system and the country. I think if some of you righties gave his show a chance, you'd be surprised. I've always liked Larry but I thought his show was going to be another Olbermann/Schultz/Matthews cluster####. Every day, his show is a surprise. It's actually quite good. More than once, he broke away from Ed/Matthews/Olbermann/Maddow on the issues.

Rachel Maddow is going to become the face of Msnbc. She's definitely far-left but she's much classier than Olbermann and she's very charismatic.

Cenk Uygur is looking destined for his own Msnbc show.

Thomas Roberts is an excellent addition to Msnbc. I absolutely love Tamron Hall and Chris Jansing. Morning Joe is a very good show (though I much prefer to watch Robin Meade:hot::drool:).

Long term, getting rid of Olbermann is going to help Msnbc. Overthrow FOX, doubt it. But I think the ratings will go up.
