Where in the heck can we dispose of old gas? I've paid fuel polishing companies big bucks to remove it from larger tanks on boats but I need to get rid of a bunch of 5 gallon cans full...

Check this out - https://www.stmarysmd.com/dpw/Household/

The last of the first paragraph says -
NOTE: since Latex Paint is not considered hazardous, it can also be disposed of along with your regular trash collection as long as the mixture is harden by adding absorbents such as cat litter, sand, sawdust, or paint drying crystals, etc. prior to disposal); stains and polish; solvents and thinners; caustic cleaners (for toilets, tile, masonry, ovens, etc), pool chemicals, lawn care chemicals, pet care chemicals; all pesticides, fungicides and herbicides used in and around the home; batteries (all kinds are also collected at the Convenience Centers); thermometers, thermostats, fluorescent light bulbs (all contain mercury and are also collected at the Convenience Centers); aerosol cans of anything; boat gas, kerosene and other fuels (even old and mixed with water).

I'd check with them before dragging a bunch of cans up there. They have large tanks for accepting oil, cooking oil and anti-freeze, but none for gasoline.

Good luck, I still have some I've never been able to get rid of.
It's bad. Buddy that is a mechanic at nearby marina told me "If you find a place to get rid of it..let me know!"

I've thought about getting a 250 gallon tank to store it in and pay the $$ to have the fuel tank cleaning outfit come down from Deale once in a while to empty it. But I hate to do that...had a tank with old gas stored in it fail due to rust some years ago and the stench was horrible for weeks afterward.

Wait till hazmat day at the landfill, usually in September.

LOL...as I posted above: yeah..I'm aware of that occasional collection event. I'm looking for a place where I can take it now..today..tomorrow.

I end up with too much old gas due to all the boats and vehicles I work on. I have 14 or 15 5-gallon cans full now...and about 20 more gallons I need to pull out of an old boat tank now..immediately. Place is turning in to a hazmat site... :(

You can always do what the people that owned my house did, move and leave it for the next owner. Buttholes left me with about 10 gallons in cans and old lawn mowers that wouldn't start.
