On Base Jobs?

But to apply for most you need to use CHARTS (?)

When you go on the USAJobs website and see a postion that you feel qualified for, you have create an account and submit your resume and all required documents for that position

If the position is not within a certain agency, they will re-direct you after hitting the "apply now" button....then you get to go through all of it again(yay) with that agency

You may want to create an account on NavAir website as well, as I was told that most of the jobs down this way go through them(don't quote me on that one though)

Plug your resume and info in there, but it's still more or less a slush pile of resumes. It really helps to find the recruiter for the type of position you're interested in, then they can set you up with interviews and it usually runs pretty smoothly from there.

Have to agree about the slush pile....

most of the jobs that are posted don't have a contact/recruiter other than an "hr department, bumcrapnowhere, california" address....I think out of 20 positions that I applied for there was one contact name and she was in California

I was told by several that they have revised the entire hiring process....5-6 years ago, you could get referred if you knew someone(my ex got his gov't job this way)....now you are put in the computer and if you have the right "key words" you get referred to the hiring manager, they are the one that actually looks at your resume and referrs you to the person that will be managing you
