So here I sit at a light.. I take off, a little quicker than usual, but not hitting the redline, don't think I even got close..

I'm shifting into second pretty quick.. come up to second.. twist on the throttle a little bit, again nothing racy, just a peppy acceleration, so I thought..

SO I'm gradually coming up on the throttle.. and think, WOW, that's smooth, feels a little differnt, kind of neat.. I wonder what.. HOLY CRAP, my front wheel is off the ground and gaining altitude.. I bring it back down to earth, and wonder.. What the hell are people thinking in traffic around me? Idiot SQUID.. He won't be among the living for long.. etc.. etc.. I didn't TRY to do this, no standing up, no sitting back, no pulling on the handlebars, it was just a nice, slow, smoooooth transition an unintentional wheel stand..

I had NO idea my bike could do that, and do it without TRYING to do it..

BUT have to admit, it probably looked pretty cool, a fully dressed bike smoothly going nose up..

You're practicing this on us to see if we believe you before you tell this story to BG, aren't you?

You'd better give her a little something extra later(if you know what I mean) and then tell her the story :yay:

The biggest gripe I can find about this bike is everyone's whining about the tall 1st gear. If the front end comes up that easy, I can see why it's a tall first gear.. everyone would be replacing front tires and shocks every 2 months with a tighter first gear.

Yikes.. I bet that got the heart pumpin a tad quicker..

Yeah, and it was pretty cool.. don't know if I EVER want to do it again, but cool to think it CAN do it.

Scary feeling, those deer need to evolve already and realize roads are bad.

He did it in second.
The front of a vehicle ALLWAYS lifts on acceleration and ALLWAYS drops on deceleration.
Your car does it, a truck does it and bikes do it. The amount of lift is determined by horse power, amount of throttle and weight of the vehicle.

He just experienced a little more lift than usual

Just find it hard to believe you wouldn't know you were up, especially on a bike. Ever happen to you APS? You were riding a wheely and didn't know it?

Yes, as described in post #3.
I didn't realize I was up till I felt the bump when I came down

FYI - We're both talking a few inches, maybe a foot, off the ground, not riding down the highway with your front wheel at eye level

Apparently you've never ridden a bike THIS smooth.

Granted I wasn't in the air for 15 seconds, maybe one or two.. but it was a surprise to realize my front wheel was off the ground and coming up pretty quick..

It felt like the front end was light, did NOT feel like it was off the ground. ANd I don't think I've ever had the front end up without actually trying to do it.. This was totally unintentional, and definitely NOT expected. I mean, c'mon, this is a full on touring bike..

It's all good Bob and maybe that's the case about not riding a smooth bike like yours because the only street bikes I have ridin are a Suzuki and a Harley so maybe I dont know what its like. I personally have never been off the ground on my street bikes, dirt bikes or four wheeler and not known it but like you say, maybe its the bike.
