The newspaper said they disappeared after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq last year.

It was last year after the invasion. Geez. Read it first, then ask me a question.

It would be stupid for Kerry to relinquish his plan before he was elected. Knowing Bush, (who hasn't laid out a plan for public view either) he would steal it figuring it's a much better and thought out plan, and then take all the credit. But seriously, why should he advertise his plan and then let the insurgents know what we're going to do?

Spoken like a true American about a true American....

Why should Kerry contribute at all to the war effort at this point in time.... Considering his and his running mates attenadence record regarding intell on the war, they don't know what the he!! is going on over there....

The only PLAN that Kerry is "planning" is what he's going to spend the next million of his wife's money on.

This is old news. These explosives were reported missing back when our troops first started taking count after arriving where it was stored. Why is it such a big story now? It was determined last year that the Iraqis had removed the explosives as part of an effort to remove military hardware from anyplace that might be targeted by US forces.

This "report" makes it sound like someone just walked in last night and made off with the stuff. How lame. :coffee:

Because Bush doesn't have a clue. He thinks everything is alright. You can't fix a problem if you don't even know that it exists. Bush has had his chance. He hasn't tried to include Iraq's neighbors in the training of Iraqi citizens. This would be a great chance to mend some of the bad feelings towards American's and he hasn't grasped it. Bush has had his chance and he has failed. :peace:

It may be old news, but it's only a matter of time before a terrorist uses these explosives against our boy's and girl's in Iraq. :patriot:

Actually the last time they knew they were there was right up to before the inspectors left and sometime after the invasion. How long was it between when the inspectors left and the US military took control of this base 30 miles from Baghdad? A day, a week, a month, or what?

Now I know this is a challenge, but what would you do as Saddam Hussein, one of his henchmen, or a fanatic that knows about these explosives, would you leave them there or move them to a place to use later?

That's exactly my point. It's only a matter of time before they blow up something. Bush should have done a better job at protecting us from these explosives.

Kerry has a 'plan' for everything, which is about as far as he reveals on *anything*. Well, *I* have a plan too - make ME President.

If he had anything serious to contribute, he'd have presented it already in the Senate Intelligence meetings he missed. He'd have proposed legislation in the last four to twenty years. If he had ANY ideas worth hearing, he'd be at least marginally KNOWN for them. He doesn't. He says "we can do better". Maybe SOMEONE can, but it ain't John Kerry. "Hope" is not a strategy.

They have been blowing stuff up, the IEDs, the car bombs, and I agree with Bruzilla that this was already brought up a long time ago, its just getting play time now because Kerry is playing politics.

Not dead yet.
Just this morning I heard an interview with Terry "Global Crossing" MacAuliffe where he bemoaned the fact that the UN let the explosives get stolen.

Then he went into a rant about the war. I can't believe that these people want the UN to be in charge of our National Security when they can't even guard an ammo dump.

Then he said that these explosives likely were in the hands of terrorists. So which is it? Is there only a terrorist connection to Iraq when it benefits the Kery campaign?

It makes me sick the way these people will say whatever it takes to win an election.

Doesn't anyone wanna talk down the President over this, now that the whole thing has been shown to be a load of crap?

Actually what gets me is, I heard about the explosives thing AGAIN this morning, and Kerry's comment, and Clinton's comment - but nothing about the fact that this is an OLD ammo dump that was pilfered before we arrived.

Why are the Dems so quick to freak about how we could have let 350 tons of raw explosives vanish, yet they can't even consider as remote the possibility that WMDs were spirited away?

That's a good point Bruzilla. I wonder if we'll hear it from the Republicans some time before the election.

I think we can place blame on Bush. He should've had more soldiers over in Iraq. Bush has been told again and again, by his own Administration, that we needed more troops in Iraq. Way to go Bush you really hit the nail on the head this time. :lmao:

Perhaps you should go over and lend a hand? It certainly appears that you have plenty of free time on your hands to volunteer.
