Had an outside shower at my home in Kill Devil Hills NC (OUTER BANKS) most homes there have them as standard equipment. I miss it a lot now that we do not have one here in St. Marys.

This one looks perfect...

Friends who have a beach house down in Piney Point have an outdoor shower like NP's but a bit smaller. It comes in handy to rinse off all the sand and to cool off in the summer.
"Absolutely" meaning to the shower or painting my clawfoot tub red?Airgasm said:Absolutely!
Yes, my friend's house is right on the beach and the shower is used continuously all summer. I would KILL to have that house. Maybe I can get them to adopt me and leave it to me in their will. One of the best features a beach house can have outside!
NP has it right!
lots of good ideas here but be mindful of staying "in code" that way if you sell the house it doesnt come back to haunt you guys.Chasey_Lane said:Call me retarded, but it has always been a dream of mine to have an outdoor shower. I was vacationing many years ago with family and the beach house we stayed at had an outdoor shower. Since then, I've always wanted one.
Soooo, how difficult/expensive would it be to do this? Anyone ever done this before or am I the only weird one? Before I research this I'd like to get some people's info.
Chasey_Lane said:I love it, Nanny! I don't think I'd go that big, and I think I'd want cedar for flooring, too. I'm thinking the size of a normal shower - which is what, 3X3 maybe?
Day had the nerve to tell me no last night. As if. After two minutes though, he said "Okay, we can look into it."crabcake said:No, definately go bigger than 3x3. You will want a place to put your towel and clothes to keep them dry ... space to step out of the stream of water before it gets warm enough to stand in ... space to give the dogs a shower/bath (be sure to have a separate/removable shower hose/head thing for this) ... 4x6 would probably be good. If you're gonna spend the money and do it, think it through so you do it right.
