Just like that. "We" do not want to abide by the Constitution because it's inconvenient, for whatever reason. "We" do not want our elected representatives to abide by the Constitution. If we did, we'd elect ones who were more faithful to it. And since this is supposedly a government "of the people, by the people, for the people" guess what? "We" make the rules.
What is amusing to me are the folks who yell and bawl about Constitutional fidelity, then in the same breath will say same-sex marriage should remain against the law. WOOT!
And, no less, want a Constitutional amendment protecting them from 'icky'.
