Thank you all for your post! I appreciate all the responses
If he is attached to it I would not worry until closer to 18 months-two.
What are your thoughts?
I only have 3 kids and used pacifiers for all three until about 5 and a half to six months. I just never have bought replacements when they wear out. I also have been lucky enough to breastfeed (currently nursing our almost 7 mos old). It seems to me that once my kids started solids, they were less interested in the paci and at the younger ages they simply don't remember giving them up. The same goes for special lovies or whatever. I simply rotate the the toys in the crib so baby diesn'y get overly attached to one.
It's worked all right with the 3 I've got. Maybe if we have a fourth it mught not work so well, who knows?
Good Luck!
If he's giving them to the dog, he's not REALLY that attached to them. Sounds like you should be able to get him off of them pretty easily. My little one used to throw his ninny out of the crib or drop it down out of his mouth because he liked to watch it fall...Then the doggies would chew it up, he thought it was the funniest thing. I was going through those 2 packs of ninny's a week. He was not on the Nuk's he was on the straight nipple so they were costing me like $5 a week..I know it doesn't seem much but when you are going through them like diapers it was such a pain lol.
He hasn't had any attachments to toys, basically anything I play with or anything I touch he wants.
