...if they said they were too sick for school, I said they were too sick to go out and play when their friends got home in the afternoon.

If they were just tired or whatever, they went to school; if they were really sick, they didn't care about after school activities and stayed home.

I seriously doubt hard core criminals were coddled.

What works for one child might not work for another. Teenagers live in their own world and each one revolves around them. They will only learn by the mistakes they make.

You must lead by example.

Hard to tell. The little rat fink is smart enough to wait until I've forgotten her previous escapades before she tries it again. That's the problem with not holding a grudge - you forget. :shrug:

But she's remembered her stuff all this week so that's a good sign. We'll see how it goes.
