Larry Gude
Strung Out
Bottom line...
...Brunnel has played horribly from the get go. He has not quit but he is done in the NFL.
He's made crippling rookie-esque turnovers.
His arm is done.
His accuracy is terrible.
Jacksonville let him go for a rookie...for more, many more reasons than money.
Eight games is more than enough time for him to have 'come around'. He won't because he can't; he's done.
This does not make him a bad person.
The worst of it is he is, even if you don't agree with me on the rest, certainly NOT the future of the team. Patrick is. Or he isn't. The team is learning nothing more than Brunnel can't get it done anymore.
Had all the close games been wins, I'd be making the case that you don't change a winner. Even then we'd be somewhere around 4-4 maybe 5-3 and we'd still know he has earned the 30th rating in the league.
Gibbs has made two mistakes he has yet to correct;
1. Fire the replay 'specialist'.
2. Play Ramsey.
The time has come for both.
